Patriotic Alternative East Midlands On the 20th of September, members from Patriotic Alternative East Midlands went on a 4 mile trek through Sherwood Forest. Along the way we visited The Major Oak, estimated to be around 1000 years old. Pictures on the tree's description panel illustrate a bygone era of Britain at its proudest. Sherwood Forest is now a 450 acre nature reserve. It is home to 1000s of rare birds and insects. We even spotted lizards darting about. We, the indigenous people of Britain, the custodians of these great isles, now preside over industrial urbanisation of our home at an unprecedented scale. Patriotic Alternative Music Club Last Saturday, 3 members of the PA Music Club met up for a jam session and celebrated the Autumn Equinox at Stanton Drew Stone Circle, the second largest in the country. Members were also treated to an English Heritage tour of the stone circles, then retired to The Cove Stones for a rehearsal in the van due to the weather. Although only a small space within, a trumpet, a cajon and a guitar were just about able to be played and the Autumn Equinox was celebrated in a musical fashion, with a slap up meal afterwards. Patriotic Alternative South East On 12th September, ten activists continued our region's annual tradition of celebrating our medieval history by attending a local Jousting Festival in the Berkshire County. This year's event featured a variety of activities including jousting, falconry, and demonstration of close quarters combat from the period. Some of us even had outfits to match the occasion! The day was concluded with a quality social at the pub aswell. Patriotic Alternative Wales Members of PA Wales went to experience Harlech Castle at the weekend. The castle is huge and incredibly the Britons built it in just 6 building seasons, with a maximum number of 950 people at any one time. The castle was built near the sea on a high rocky outcrop so it could easily be supplied by boats from England and Ireland After leaving the castle the group went to visit some ancient burial chambers in a village nearby. One pair originally looked like two cairns, but our ancestors pulled all the stones down to reveal two dolmens, leaving the stones in situ. This pair were right next to a Primary School, while the other one was a mile down the road, hidden away and hard to find, until it suddenly appeared out of the fog, next to a river. The day was finished with a meal of locally sourced food at a restaurant franchise unique to North Wales. Website | Join | Donate

We started off with a run along the rolling chalk hills, landing on the beach for a relax and swim in the ocean.
