Patriotic Alternative South West Activists came together on the Isle of Wight for a weekend of summer activities. We started off with a run along the rolling chalk hills, landing on the beach for a relax and swim in the ocean. The next day, we enjoyed visiting the sites of the island; including the royal artillery and the needles that used to connect the land to Dorset. Patriotic Alternative Wales Last weekend, members visited Abergavenny to learn more about our heritage. The town’s castle was explored, along with the museum, which showed how we used to live, including putting small dogs in a wheel to turn meat in front of the fire. Bear in mind we also used to put small children up chimneys at this point in our history. We also went to the 10th century priory, which had an oak carving of the Biblical Jesse, visually demonstrating the importance of ancestry and the roots of the family tree. After that we walked to the Priory Holy Well and drove to Grosmont and Skenfrith castles, 2 of the 3 castles of Gwent, built by the Normans to oversee the Welsh inhabitants. One was right by a river where children were playing in rafts and swimming in the autumn sun. Patriotic Alternative East Midlands We were invited to a demonstration in Long Eaton opposing the Best Western's involvement in the lucrative asylum seeker trade. Organised by the Long Eaton Flag Men the demonstration sought to raise awareness of the consequences to the indigenous people of Long Eaton and their families. Once the fuel that powered a great nation, Britain's young people have been consistently overlooked in favour of cheap labour from abroad. Local activists joined the protests in Bicester on Sunday 12th July and 1st of August. The Home Office unveiled plans to house asylum seekers on Ministry of Defence land in Bicester.
