📖 NEW BOOK RELEASE | THE REPENTANCE SERIES [5] THE TAWBAH OF ABŪ LUBĀBAH رضي الله عنه When a Sin Becomes the Beginning of a New Life A single gesture. A moment of weakness. A heart overwhelmed by regret. 🌿 This book takes you through his remarkable account of repentance and the timeless lessons it carries: • The weight of an Amānah and the danger of betraying a trust. • The sign of a living heart that trembles at its sins. • The importance of hastening towards repentance without delay. • The balance between fearing Allah and hoping in His mercy. • How sincere repentance must be followed by righteous deeds and steadfastness. A moment of weakness does not have to become a lifetime of disobedience. O Allah, accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepter of repentance, the Most Merciful.

The Repentant Person Must Sometimes Walk Through the Consequences of His Own Actions This is where many people turn back. They repent and expect immediate peace. Then they discover that Tawbah does not always mean that everything becomes easy overnight. Perhaps people still speak. Perhaps trust must be rebuilt. Perhaps something must be returned. Perhaps an apology must be made. Perhaps a relationship damaged through years of wrongdoing cannot be repaired in one conversation. And Shayṭān whispers: Look what repentance has brought you. Go back. But the sincere person understands: Difficulty on the road back to Allah does not mean Allah has rejected you. Abū Sufyān could have turned around. Every step forward was bringing him closer to people who remembered what he had done. Yet the man who had spent years running from the truth had finally decided that he would rather face the consequences of returning than enjoy the comfort of remaining upon falsehood. And then something happened. One of the men recognised him. Abū Sufyān feared what would follow. But the man looked at him, and then turned his face away, as though he had not seen him. He allowed him to continue. Abū Sufyān pressed forward. More people began to recognise him. Eyes turned toward him. His fear increased. He knew that before him stood the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Behind him was the life he had abandoned. And surrounding him were people who remembered his hostility. There was nowhere left to hide. Sometimes sincere Tawbah means walking toward the very thing your sin made you afraid to face. — Shaykh Musa Jibril حفظه الله https://t.me/LightOfTheTruth

📕✨ NEW BOOK RELEASE ✨📕 🌿 THE REPENTANCE OF ABŪ SUFYĀN IBN AL-ḤĀRITH رضي الله عنه From Enemy of the Messenger ﷺ to Defending Him With His Life al-Shaykh Musa Jibril حفظه الله The story that made Shaykh Musa cry so much, he almost fainted! For years, Abū Sufyān ibn al-Ḥārith رضي الله عنه stood against the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ. He was his cousin, his foster-brother and once his close companion, yet he became one of his opponents, using even his poetry against him. Then Allāh opened his heart. He returned ashamed of his past, uncertain whether he would even be accepted. He endured being turned away, but he did not turn back. 🌿 That is what sincere Tawbah can do to a person. Your worst chapter does not have to be your final chapter. 📥 Download ➟ 📖 Read ➟ 💭 Reflect ➟ 🌿 Apply ➟ 🔄 Share Perhaps you are not reading the story of Abū Sufyān رضي الله عنه merely to learn how his story changed. Perhaps Allāh has placed it before you so that you begin thinking about yours. https://t.me/JaamiatuJibril

Then that same servant finally lowers his head, regrets what he has done and sincerely returns…and Allah loves his return. So why would you despair? Why would you allow Shayṭān to convince you that the door has closed when Allah Himself is calling you towards it? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ related that Allah says: يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ إِنَّكَ لَوْ أَتَيْتَنِي بِقُرَابِ الْأَرْضِ خَطَايَا ثُمَّ لَقِيتَنِي لَا تُشْرِكُ بِي شَيْئًا لَأَتَيْتُكَ بِقُرَابِهَا مَغْفِرَةً “O son of Ādam! If you were to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth, and then you met Me without associating anything with Me, I would come to you with forgiveness nearly as great as it.” — at-Tirmidhī This is the balance the believer must carry throughout his life. Do not become so hopeful that you begin treating sins lightly, and do not become so overwhelmed by fear that you despair of the mercy of Allah. See your sins like a mountain, but never see that mountain as greater than the mercy of Allah. Fear your sins enough to leave them. Regret them enough to repent from them. Remain conscious of Allah enough that even the private sin concerns you. But know your Lord well enough that whenever you fall, you know exactly where to return. The believer is not the person who claims that he will never fall. He is the person whose īmān will not allow him to become comfortable after he has fallen. His heart continues pulling him back towards his Lord, so he regrets, seeks forgiveness, reforms himself and returns to Allah again and again. And perhaps that is one of the clearest differences between the mountain and the fly: One man is terrified by the weight of his sin, so he runs to Allah. The other brushes it away, and continues walking. اللهم اجعلنا من التوابين واجعلنا من المتطهرين O Allah, make us among those who constantly repent, and make us among those who purify themselves. — Shaykh Musa Jibril حفظه الله https://t.me/JaamiatuJibril

When the believer slips, there is something inside him that troubles him and pushes him back towards Allah. This is why the believer remains watchful over himself. He does not consider himself too righteous to fall, nor does he feel secure from the consequences of his deeds. Allah described the believers: وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَا آتَوا وَّقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ رَاجِعُونَ “And those who give that (their charity) which they give (and also do other good deeds) with their hearts full of fear (whether their alms and charities, etc., have been accepted or not), because they are sure to return to their Lord (for reckoning).” — Sūrat al-Muʾminūn 23:60 Consider this carefully: they are performing good deeds, yet their hearts are still afraid. They do not look at their worship and become impressed with themselves. They remember the greatness of the One whom they worship, they fear that their deeds may not be accepted, and they remember that they are returning to Allah. If this is the condition of the believer after obedience, then what should the condition of his heart be after disobedience? 🌧️ FEAR SHOULD BRING YOU BACK TO ALLAH But there is another matter that must be understood. Shayṭān has two doors through which he tries to destroy the sinner. Before the sin, he makes the sin appear insignificant: It is only once. It is only a small thing. Allah is Forgiving. Then after the person commits it, Shayṭān changes his approach. Suddenly he magnifies the sin and whispers: How could Allah forgive someone like you? You have done this too many times. There is no point returning. Before the sin, he makes the sin small. After the sin, he tries to make Allah’s mercy small. Do not allow him to deceive you with either. No matter how enormous the mountain of your sins becomes, it will never become greater than the mercy of Allah. Allah Almighty said: قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَىٰ أَنْفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا مِن رَّحْمَةِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ “Say: O ‘Ibādī (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allāh, verily Allāh forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” — Sūrat az-Zumar 39:53 Allah said: لَا تَقْنَطُوا مِن رَّحْمَةِ اللَّهِ “Despair not of the Mercy of Allāh.” Even disbelief is forgiven when a person sincerely repents from it and enters Islam. So the believer who has fallen into sin should never allow his shame to become a barrier between himself and Allah. Feel ashamed. Feel regret. Fear the consequences. But let every one of those feelings push you towards Allah, not away from Him. 🤍 ALLAH REJOICES AT THE TAWBAH OF HIS SLAVE The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave an extraordinary example of how pleased Allah is when His servant returns to Him. Imagine a man travelling alone through a barren land. His riding animal carries his food, his drink and everything upon which his survival depends. Then suddenly the animal disappears. He searches for it until eventually he loses hope. There is no water, no food and no means of escape. Exhausted and believing that death is now inevitable, he lies beneath a tree and waits. Then, suddenly, he looks up. His animal is standing beside him. His food has returned. His water has returned. His means of survival has returned. The man grabs its reins and becomes so overwhelmed by happiness that his tongue slips and he says: اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ عَبْدِي وَأَنَا رَبُّكَ “O Allah, You are my slave and I am Your Lord.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: أَخْطَأَ مِنْ شِدَّةِ الْفَرَحِ “He made a mistake because of the intensity of his joy.” And the Prophet ﷺ taught us that Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His servant than that man was when he found what he believed he had lost forever. — Muslim Think about the meaning of this. A servant disobeys Allah, falls short regarding His rights and transgresses against himself.

Long before a child understands a lecture, opens a book or sits before a teacher, he is already learning. He is watching you. He watches how you speak when you are angry. He watches whether you stop for ṣalāh when you are busy. He hears what comes from your tongue when something goes wrong. He notices how you treat your spouse, your parents and those weaker than you. He sees what makes you happy, what makes you anxious, what you spend your time pursuing and what place Allah ﺳﺒﺤﺎﻧﻪ وﺗﻌﺎﱃ truly occupies in your life. This is why tarbiyah cannot be reduced to instructions. You may tell your child a hundred times that ṣalāh is important, but if he repeatedly watches you delay it for the dunyā, he learns something else. You may teach him that lying is ḥarām, but if he hears you lie when it is convenient, he learns something else. You may tell him that the Qur'an should be loved while he rarely sees it opened in the home, and again, he learns something else. Children listen to what you say, but they are raised upon what they repeatedly see. — Shaykh Musa Jibril حفظه الله https://t.me/LightOfTheTruth

Allah سبحانه وتعالى says: وَمَا هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَآ إِلَّا لَهْوٌۭ وَلَعِبٌۭ ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱلدَّارَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ لَهِىَ ٱلْحَيَوَانُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ “And this life of the world is only amusement and play! Verily, the home of the Hereafter, that is the life indeed (i.e. the eternal life that will never end), if they but knew.” — Sūrat al-ʿAnkabūt 29:64 That is the life indeed. This world is the place of preparation and the Hereafter is the destination. Here is the place of deeds, and there is the place of recompense. Here you can repent; there you will only wish you had repented. Here you can make another sajdah, give another charity, seek forgiveness once more and repair what is between you and Allah. When death arrives, those opportunities come to an end. This is why the believer should never become satisfied with the provisions he has prepared for his journey. There is another prayer he can perfect, another page of Qur’an he can recite, another act of charity he can conceal, another sin he can abandon and another night in which he can raise his hands to Allah while the creation sleeps. — Shaykh Musa Jibril حفظه الله https://t.me/LightOfTheTruth • ⚠️ NEW BOOK COMING SOON: “Abandon This Dunya Before It Abandons You!” 📖
