Friedrich Nietzsche
15 October 1844 25 August 1900 was a German philosopher and writer who started his career as a classical philologist and turned to philosophy early in his academic career In 1869 at age 24 he was appointed Professor of Classical Philology at the University of Basel. Plagued by health problems for most of his life he resigned from the university in 1879 He afterward lived as an independent writer spending much of his life in relative solitude and financial insecurity while moving between Switzerland,Italy and southern France in search of climates that might alleviate his condition and in the following decade he completed much of his core writing In 1889 aged 44 he suffered a neurological collapse and thereafter a complete loss of his mental faculties with paralysis and vascular dementia he lived out his remaining 11 years first under the care of his mother and later his sister until his death His works and his philosophy have fostered not only extensive scholarship but also much popular

And if there were a God I think it very unlikely that He would have such an uneasy vanity as to be offended by those who doubt His existence... Doubt is not an insult to truth it is the pressure that reveals whether the truth can remain manifest without intimidation A belief sustained by fear reveals its own fragility; respect that is demanded is not respect truly earned; and a god who prefers submission to understanding is a reflection of human insecurity not diven greatness Faith that seeks transcendence through limitation reduces transcendence to power and dominion; and authority collapses when obedience falters. Reflection does not defile the sacred; rather, it tests whether the sacred is worthy of enduring. That which collapses under questioning was never wholly, it's only protected

Oh, who is she? A misty memory A haunting face Is she a lost embrace? Am I in love with just a theme? Or is Ayesha just a dream? A mystery Oh, who is she? Oh, who is she? A misty memory A haunting face Is she a lost embrace? I call her name Across an endless plain She'll answer me Wherever she may be Oh, who is she? (Oh, who is she?) A misty memory (a misty memory) A haunting face (a haunting face) Is she a lost embrace? Somewhere across the sea of time A love immortal such as mine Will come to me Eternally Immortal she Return to me
