| 3 |  ⚡ SOLANA IS TESTING A NEW WAY TO REDUCE NETWORK LATENCY
Solana developers are exploring a change that could make communication between blockchain validators faster by accounting for their geographic locations.
A new study published on October 14 examines a proposed geo-aware leader schedule, which would arrange consecutive block producers so they are geographically closer to one another.
In simulations using 6,250 network configurations, the study found that the approach could reduce average handoff latency by approximately 29 milliseconds under its recommended settings.
However, the proposal also introduces tradeoffs. Geographic clustering could increase regional concentration, and inaccurate location claims could undermine the system.
The research highlights an important part of blockchain development: improving performance is not just about processing transactions faster. It is also about how infrastructure communicates across the world.

REA, short for Reverse Engineer Anything, is going viral in the developer community for giving AI coding agents the tools to investigate how software works, even when the original source code is unavailable.
The open source toolkit connects AI agents to reverse engineering tools such as Ghidra and Hopper, helping them analyze applications, inspect binaries, understand software behavior, and rebuild features based on what they discover.

On September 11, an attacker exploited two bugs in Symbiosis’ Bitcoin Bridge. A deposit worth just 330 satoshis, around $0.25, was used to mint approximately 46.1 billion unbacked syBTC.
For context, that number is more than 2,000× Bitcoin’s entire 21 million BTC maximum supply. 😭
The attacker ultimately extracted far less than the headline number, with reported proceeds around $336,000, and Symbiosis shut down the affected bridge while working on recovery and security fixes.
