HPG Command member Murat Karayılan: commemorations were held for 230 fallen guerrillas in Amed, Istanbul, Wan, Gever, Cizre, Botan and Nusaybin, describing the large public participation as a sign of Kurdish society’s commitment to its fallen and its values. He said intense warfare and security conditions had caused information on some deaths to reach headquarters late, adding that other cases have still not been publicly announced. According to Karayılan, 520 fallen guerrillas from Northern Kurdistan are still awaiting announcement, alongside smaller numbers from other parts of Kurdistan. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are carrying out strikes against alleged hideouts of Turkish intelligence near Damascus, Syria. Turkish Special Forces and intelligence agents reportedly responsible for commanding and controlling various Islamist factions of the New Syrian Army under the regime of Ahmed al-Sharaa are being targeted by the IDF. Israeli forces are conducting operations near Damascus tonight, targeting the area between Beit Jinn and the Red Hills in the western Damascus countryside. The attacks reportedly involve both drone and artillery strikes, including precision-guided artillery shells. House-to-house raids have also been reported in Rasm al-Ajraf in the southern Quneitra countryside. Syrian sources describe the intensity of the Israeli operations tonight as unprecedented. Alliance of Iranian Kurdistan Political Parties Calls for Preparations The Alliance of Iranian Kurdistan Political Parties, meeting on August 25, called on Kurdish parties to prepare for possible major changes in Iran and the region. The Alliance said Iran is facing a deepening political, economic and structural crisis that could weaken state control. It urged coordinated political, diplomatic, security and organizational efforts to ensure the Kurdish movement is ready to respond. The parties also reaffirmed their commitment to Kurdish national rights, democracy, women’s freedom and self-determination, while planning to document alleged Islamic Republic crimes for submission to international institutions. at least 47 Kurdish citizens and activists have been arrested by the Iranian regime, and no information has been obtained about their whereabouts or condition. The Voice of Kurdish and Iranian Prisoners website published a report on the arrests of citizens and activists in Eastern Kurdistan (western Iran). According to the report, at least 47 Kurdish citizens and activists have been arrested without judicial warrants this month. Statement to the Public On 26 August, the General Command of the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) held a meeting with an official delegation from the Ministry of Interior of the transitional government in Damascus. During the meeting, issues of security and stability in Syria, as well as the future of cooperation and coordination between the two sides, were discussed extensively. The future of the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) was the main focus of the meeting. It was emphasized that the YPJ could be integrated, as a distinct and organized force, into the structure of the Ministry of Interior. The meeting was held in a positive and constructive atmosphere. In order to complete and finalize the integration process within the framework of the 29 January 2026 Agreement, our meetings and discussions will continue.
