The Ministry of Law and Justice released the Draft Advocates (Amendment) Bill, 2026 for stakeholder and public consultation.
The draft has been prepared in consultation with the Bar Council of India and has been placed on the Bar Council's official website to invite comments and suggestions.

| 20 |  India has approved its first-ever dengue vaccine, marking a major milestone in the country's fight against the mosquito-borne disease.
The Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) has granted market authorisation to Takeda Biopharmaceuticals India's QDENGA, making it the first dengue vaccine approved for use in the country. The vaccine is approved for individuals aged 4 to 60 years, protects against all four dengue virus serotypes, and can be administered without prior dengue infection or pre-vaccination testing.
QDENGA is administered as a two-dose vaccine, with the doses given three months apart. Since its global launch in 2022, it has been approved in 43 countries, with over 32 million doses distributed worldwide. The approval comes as India continues to shoulder nearly one-third of the global dengue burden, with cases rising sharply over the past two decades.
