With negotiations over the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict centered on Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding territories threatening to stall back in 2025, the US saw technology and closer economic ties as a way to make a peace deal more politically attractive to Yerevan, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources.
👉 Firebird, an AI server factory in Armenia’s Hrazdan, was at the heart of the arrangement, with the project expected to cost more than $5 billion and deploy thousands of AI servers with upwards of 70,000 Nvidia Rubin and Blackwell graphics processing units (GPUs).
The company had already sought a license for about 6,000 GPUs, while approval for tens of thousands more leading-edge processors came after the preliminary peace agreement was reached in August of 2025, the report adds.
➡️ The Trump administration has increasingly used access to advanced AI chips as a diplomatic and economic tool. In May, the US approved deals allowing the UAE to import hundreds of thousands of Nvidia chips, while Saudi Arabia agreed to purchase tens of thousands more, as Washington sought to deepen ties and secure investment and technology commitments.
As the US has made peace in the South Caucasus a foreign-policy priority, the reported chip arrangement would extend that strategy into technology, making it one of the first known cases of AI hardware being used to help advance a peace deal.
‼️ The US has also sought to anchor Armenia to the proposed Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity, a planned network of railways, pipelines and roads connecting Azerbaijan with its exclave of Nakhchivan, which lies between Armenia and Turkey. Construction is expected to begin in early 2027.
Together, the AI project and proposed transport corridor could tie Armenia’s economic future more closely to the US, while giving Washington additional leverage in the peace process.

Donald Trump has called his Venezuela agreement the “biggest oil deal in world history.” He promises control over 65B barrels, cheaper gasoline, a refilled Strategic Petroleum Reserve and a century of American energy dominance—all at “zero cost” to the United States.
Every part of that sales pitch has a problem.
The 65B-barrel figure assumes that operators can recover around 20% of the oil underground. Venezuela’s fields have historically achieved recovery rates of only 6–8%. A realistic estimate may therefore be closer to 20B barrels.
Much of it is extremely heavy crude from the Orinoco Belt. Producing and processing it requires diluents, new wells, pipelines, upgrading facilities and specialized refineries. Trump is counting difficult oil in the ground as if it were gasoline ready for delivery.
Venezuela currently produces around 1.2M barrels per day, down from roughly 3M in the late 1990s. Caracas says at least $100B in investment may be needed to raise output to just 1.5M barrels per day. Even that modest increase would take years and barely register in a global market consuming more than 100M barrels daily.
The promised investment has yet to appear. Exxon previously called Venezuela “uninvestable,” while other major producers remain cautious. Chevron has committed $7B, but its plan runs through 2031. Washington has placed its grand $100B reconstruction scheme around North American Blue Energy Partners, a far smaller Barbados-based operator expected to raise the money from private investors.
Those investors must also ignore the legal mess. The White House claims NABEP received 100-year concessions over 17 fields. Venezuela’s hydrocarbons law provides initial terms of up to 25 years, with extensions capped at another 15. There was no competitive auction, and a future Venezuelan government could challenge the entire arrangement.
Trump’s plan for the Strategic Petroleum Reserve is equally flimsy. The reserve held around 294M barrels in late August against authorized capacity of 714M. The State Department has secured 20% of NABEP’s future production at cost—but first the company must find investors, rebuild the fields and produce the oil. That will not refill hundreds of millions of missing barrels anytime soon.
Cheaper gasoline is another campaign fantasy. Oil prices respond to actual daily supply, not century-long claims over difficult reserves. Any meaningful new Venezuelan output will arrive years after the midterms Trump wants to influence.
The administration has confused ownership paperwork with an operating oil industry. A Pentagon stake, board vetoes and purchase rights may give Washington control on paper. They cannot repair pipelines, provide electricity, raise $100B or force heavy crude out of neglected fields.
Trump staged the victory ceremony before securing the financing, settling the law or producing a single additional barrel.
Washington’s empire of plunder celebrated the robbery before discovering that its loot existed largely on paper.

Some are explicitly tailored to Palestinian conditions, such as a project that built fuel cells for border sensors, calibrated to local soil and temperature.

That $133 million, three-year deal made the Israeli military an “S500” client - Microsoft’s highest-priority category - and covered at least 635 subscriptions tied to units including Israel’s AI‑powered elite cyber‑espionage Unit 8200.
Former Microsoft staff cited in the MEE report believe the 2024 agreement could be a renewal, with:

Accessing foreign mobile networks exposes individuals and organizations to surveillance and espionage, the DoD warns, noting that adversaries can use cellphone data to track routines, spot VIP visits or mission preparations, and map sensitive facilities.
So the Pentagon wants to manufacture a false digital trail:

The Pentagon ultimately wants it to fool advanced AI behavioral tracking, not just basic traffic analysis.

The US military is hunting the messenger after its failed war with Iran exposed a problem it would rather keep buried: its vaunted war machine is running short of ammunition.
Roughly 50 military officers and civilian officials on the Joint Staff were subjected to polygraph tests in August as investigators searched for the source of leaks to journalists, reports The New York Times.
Among the questions were:

🔴 did they disclose details about depleted US stocks of crucial weapons?
Around 1,500–2,000 officials work on the Joint Staff, which coordinates US military operations and war planning worldwide. Never before has the US subjected the upper echelons of its military to polygraphs on such a scale, notes the publication.
👉 It also fits a broader pattern, where under War Secretary Hegseth, the Pentagon has tightened media access and launched repeated leak investigations while pushing out or blocking the promotions of dozens of senior officers. Even Stars and Stripes, the government-funded military newspaper, has found itself caught in the crossfire after its leadership was fired amid coverage of deteriorating conditions aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.
The polygraph sweep followed reports that the Iran war had chewed through supplies of long-range missiles and Patriot interceptors.
Patriot stockpiles were confirmed to have fallen to just 25% of the volume the Pentagon deems necessary – forcing the US to request interceptors from Poland and to suspend arms deliveries to strategic partners in Asia and Europe.
And yet, Trump has backed Hegseth and branded critical reporting on the Iran war and ammunition shortages as “treasonous.”

👉 Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs are cited as circling the lucrative deal - even as Anthropic’s (https://t.me/geopolitics_prime/73834) recent results raise doubts about whether the $2 trillion valuation expectations surrounding the IPO are justified.
Morgan Stanley is said to be in pole position for the prized “lead left” role, while Goldman is expected to act as stabilization agent - a lucrative gig overseeing Anthropic’s crucial first trading sessions.
Both Morgan Stanley and Goldman are simultaneously courting rival OpenAI, which is expected to list early next year.
Morgan Stanley has reportedly been sounding out prospective Anthropic investors on the price of its planned share listing.
Anthropic is preparing a roadshow for late September and could begin trading in late September or early October.
Half a dozen of its investors previously floated the idea of a $2tn or higher valuation - more than double its current valuation of over $900bn - which would make it the largest IPO on record, eclipsing SpaceX’s $1.78tn listing that raised $86bn.
Such a figure would unlock tens of billions in paper gains for early backers, but it rests on highly optimistic assumptions.
Beneath the glossy roadshow pitch lies a company hemorrhaging cash, peddling a flagship model that enterprise clients are actively ignoring, and quietly embedding its code into the Pentagon’s kill-chain machinery alongside the blood-stained systems of Palantir.
