🇮🇹 30,000 bottles worth €5 million – the largest wine theft in Italy! Marchesi Antinori, Italy's oldest family-owned winery, founded in 1385, has been the victim of one of the largest wine heists in the world. Seven masked men broke into its warehouse in Tuscany, disabled the alarm system and security cameras. They then used the company's own forklifts to load two trucks with wine. The thieves made off with 30,000 bottles of premium wine, valued at €150 to €500 per bottle. The robbery occurred over the weekend, when the winery was preparing a large shipment of wine for export. The theft was only discovered on Monday morning. The head of Antinori, Renzo Cotarella, is convinced that the perpetrators were professionals with a good understanding of the wine market. The company is now warning customers around the world about the possible sale of stolen wine. The police are searching for the criminals, but no arrests have been made so far.
