| 9 |  ⚡ SEBI to review derivative expiry settlement-price methodology after feedback on Closing Auction Session (CAS)
👉🏻 CAS was introduced in the equity cash segment from 3 Aug 2026 to determine closing prices.
👉🏻 These CAS-derived closing prices currently also form the basis for settlement of derivative contracts on expiry.
👉🏻 Following the first month of implementation, SEBI says it received significant feedback from exchanges, brokers, proprietary traders, mutual funds, FPIs and other market participants.
👉🏻 A key concern relates specifically to using the CAS closing price for derivative expiry settlement.
👉🏻 SEBI is now considering changes to the settlement-price methodology and expects to issue a consultation paper in about a week.
📌 Potentially important for Nuvama, Angel One, Groww and BSE, given their exposure to derivatives trading activity and market infrastructure.
