U.S. President Joe Biden condemned the shooting at his opponent Donald Trump's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, initially saying "I have been briefed on the shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania. I’m grateful to hear that he’s safe and doing well. I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information. Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety. There’s no place for this kind of violence in America. We must unite as one nation to condemn it." Biden said he was trying to get ahold of Trump, who he called Donald, on the phone and wanted to talk to him reported AP. @ourwarstoday Kevin Rojek, Special Agent in Charge, FBI Pittsburgh field office, said late Saturday: “Tonight we had what we’re calling an assassination attempt on our former president, Donald Trump.” “We do not currently have an identified motive,” he added. The suspected shooter is a 20-year-old man from Pennsylvania reports AP. Asked if law enforcement did not know the shooter was on the roof until he began firing, Rojek responded, “that is our assessment at this time.” “It is surprising” that the shooter was able to get off as many rounds as were fired, Rojek said. He added that “all the details of that will come out later investigation.” State Police have identified the person killed and people injured but are not prepared to release names, State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens said. Other than Trump, two people were critically injured and one was killed. All were adult males.

🇺🇸 #NEW A man with a rifle was seen on a rooftop minutes before shots were fired at a Donald #Trump rally in #Pennsylvania according to a witness who spoke with the BBC. The rooftop he spoke of he says was the same that police climbed up to retrive the shooter's body. Approximately 140-150 yards, or around 135 meters. @ourwarstoday "Greg Smith, the witness, said the man had crawled on top of a building just outside the event in Butler County on Friday evening. He said he pointed the gunman out to police. "I'm thinking to myself 'Why is Trump still speaking, why have they not pulled him off the stage'... the next thing you know, five shots ring out." The former #UnitedStates president was immediately swarmed by Secret Service agents and escorted away. He was seen with blood on his face and later said a bullet had pierced his ear. The gunman was shot dead, officials later confirmed. Mr Smith told the BBC he saw Secret Service agents shoot the man. Mr Smith was listening from outside the rally and said he saw the gunman around five minutes into Mr Trump's speech. "We noticed the guy bear-crawling up the roof of the building beside us, 50ft away," he said. "He had a rifle, we could clearly see a rifle. "We're pointing at him, the police are down there running around on the ground, we're like 'Hey man, there's a guy on the roof with a rifle'... and the police did not know what was going on." Mr Smith said he tried to alert the authorities for three to four minutes, but he thinks they probably could not see the gunman because of the slope of the roof. "Why is there not Secret Service on all of these roofs here?" he asked. "This is not a big place." He said he later saw the agents shoot the gunman: "They crawled up on the roof, they had their guns pointed at him, made sure he was dead. He was dead, and that was it - it was over." Anthony Guglielmi, communications chief for the Secret Service, said its personnel "neutralised the shooter" and "quickly responded with protective measures". The incident is being investigated as an attempted assassination. An audience member has also been killed and two others are critically injured, the Secret Service added."–BBC
