Marking the beginning of the Malayalam calendar year, known as Kolla Varsham, it is a culturally rich celebration that transcends religious and caste boundaries, bringing communities together in joyful observance.

Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) ( nepal incident is in news today ) A sudden release of water from a glacial lake, usually caused by the failure of a natural ice or moraine dam. Causes: Melting of glaciers Ice/rock avalanches falling into the lake Weakening or collapse of moraine dams Earthquakes Impact: Can cause sudden, destructive floods downstream, damaging villages, roads, bridges and farmland. Exam Point: GLOF = Glacial Lake Outburst Flood → sudden release of glacial-lake water → flash flood downstream.
