Even Monkeys fall from the trees I was reading an article and came across the proverb, "Even monkeys fall from trees." It caught my attention because, as a child, I had heard that if a monkey ever fell from a tree, its troop would abandon or even kill it. I don't know how much truth there is to that, and honestly, I've never seen a monkey fall from a tree myself. But that isn't really the point. Curious, I looked up the meaning of the proverb. It simply means that even the most skilled, experienced, and capable individuals make mistakes. And the more I thought about it, the more profound it seemed. No one is so perfect that they never stumble. Mistakes are not exceptions to being human—they are part of it. What fascinates me is this: if everyone makes mistakes, then what makes certain people seem "perfect"? Perhaps perfection is not the absence of mistakes. Perhaps it is the ability to learn from them, recover from them, and continue moving forward without letting them define you. Maybe true excellence lies not in never falling, but in how gracefully one rises after the fall. So, if you made mistakes in your preparation in the past, learn from them and move on. Don't keep sitting with regret, endlessly criticising yourself, or replaying the same failure in your mind. Constantly repeating your mistakes to yourself serves little purpose if it doesn't lead to growth. If you understand even a little about neuroplasticity, you'll know why dwelling on the same negative narrative is unhelpful. The brain strengthens the pathways it uses repeatedly. Instead of turning your failures into a daily mantra, turn them into lessons. Focus on your goal, apply what you've learned, and use every setback as a stepping stone toward where you want to be. Remember: your future is not built by the mistakes you made yesterday, but by the actions you choose today. The fall was a lesson, not a destination. Stand up, adjust your path, and keep moving. The people who eventually succeed are not those who never failed—they are the ones who refused to stay down.
