When the correct answer is treaded as only B, it only focuses on one realm only that of pronouncing of judgments as then judge has the supreme authority, which has to be respected by the lawyer. Meaning communication is firm here.
However, during regular court proceedings, the lawyers and judges communicate in many different ways - cross questioning during arguments stage, lawyers being amicus curiae for court - they assist judges : lawyers act in an open ended interaction instead of purely firm. Further, court rooms also offer some light conversations between judges and lawyers during normal day to day hearings like judges praising lawyers' work, encouraging young lawyers, giving special considerations to senior lawyers etc.
So, by being exclusively called firm, it presents only one facet of judiciary (pronouncements of judgments) but actual court happenings are far beyond it and should be seen in complete sense.
On the other hand, Registrars have very defined roles, which they are done mostly under direction of Vice Chancellor itself. Thus, VC and Registrar's major conversation is mostly written and firm. Further, it is as per the Acts/Rules of senate making it highly firm.
