Terror and the Normalising of Bad News: How M.N. Roy Founded the Communist Party of India From 1924 - 26, M.N. Roy used a variety of terror tactics and propaganda as the forerunners to establishing the Communist Party of India (CPI). In July 1924 the Communist International decided to adopt Roy's suggestion that a new Indian Communist Party should be formed as a branch of the Communist International. In other words, from the start, the CPI showed that its loyalty was not to India but to the USSR. M.N. Roy wrote in a column that it was good that “People have got used to hearing things which simply terrified them before. We must reap the benefit of this situation." He was a truly evil, sick, unscrupulous man.
