| 3 | I watched a video of British Armed forces in a bunker bracing for impact from incoming missiles in the middle east. I found it terrifying. There were audible cues on the base. The air raid sirens actually changed tone to something else, indicating the proximity of the threat. Then a voice on a speaker said, "INCOMING, INCOMING, INCOMING." Then the impacts can be heard.
I've never seen or heard anything like this before and simply seeing the video of the soldiers bracing for the attack in a bunker drove home the seriousness of war. It is very serious. I don't like war. It's not that I am anti war, but instead I prefer the viewpoint of being pro peace. War has a time and place. Peace and prosperity does too. I grew up watching my country conduct military operations all around the world. From Desert Storm, to Bosnia, to Somalia, to Afghanistan, to Iraq, and more, I have watched the US wage war.
This latest conflict Iran produces mixed feelings for me. I would love to see a free Persia, trading in peace and prospering. However, it shouldn't come at the expense of religious persecution and people dying at the hands of extremists. So I hope the recent hits on their infrastructure and military capabilities is enough to end the conflict. Some people have to be told once, while slow learners have to be told repeatedly. | 68 |
