Every year, a man in Karnataka dresses up as a terrifying demon—and then goes out asking people for money.
But the money isn’t for him.
Ravi Katapady, a daily-wage mason from Udupi, uses the Krishna Janmashtami vesha tradition to raise money for children needing medical treatment.
Over the years, Ravi and his team have collected more than ₹89 lakh for surgeries, treatment and hospital expenses.

RAJENDRA SINGH (Alwar) arrived in a drought-hit village in 1985 with a medical degree, planning to open a clinic.
The villagers told him something unexpected: “We don’t need a doctor. We need water.”
Instead of leaving, Rajendra Singh decided to help the villages solve the water PERMANENTLY and started with reviving JOHADS traditional rainwater-harvesting structures. The Water body spang back to life!!
One village became hundreds, and the work helped bring many rivers back to life including the ARAVARI RIVER , which had been dry for decades, began flowing again.
