I don’t know if it’s just for me, but Samarkand became the worst place for travel for me. People I met are sooo unfriendly, restaurants I went in are basically scams and everything is sooo annoying, even traffic lights. Is this just an unlucky coincidence or reality?

If there must be someone who has to take the responsibility for the biggest ups and downs of my life, let it be me!

I realize that taking the first step in everything only leads to more opportunities. I have personally lost so many opportunities, career related or social, just because I hesitated and the chance was gone forever.

Everybody has very distinct preferences and priorities when it comes to university. Personally, I just wanted to go back to the US and continue where I was left off after FLEX ). Where do you want to study:

Facts. You cannot isolate a single extracurricular activity, rec letter or essay that got people into top unis. I believe every component complements each other, revealing the whole picture of the student. So, it’s impossible to just copy a successful case. That’s what makes admissions both painful and interesting.

I set a new record for myself today. I slept 18 hours non-stop. The longest I have ever did. I don't think anybody every slept longer than this

For CMU-Q, I got accepted to Business Administration major. Do we have anyone here considering BA as their major or do you think it's a legit major to pursue?

Media team genuinely cooked here. Should have gotten my hair cut, but it's fine.

🎉 Welcome to Bowdoin, Abrorbek! Abrorbek Samijonov, a graduate of Sodiq School and founder of ScholarConnect, has been admitted to Bowdoin College on a $388,000 scholarship and Carnegie Mellon Qatar to study Computer Science and Education Studies! Abrorbek was enrolled in the Full Support 2025 program. He worked with Valera, Sega, and Sanjar on everything from essay writing to strategizing his extracurriculars. Notably, he authored his research paper “Bitcoin Adoption and Its Socioeconomic Impact: Lessons from El Salvador” under Dr. Lyusyena’s guidance. As co-founder of ScholarConnect, Abrorbek and his team have helped 100+ students connect with university professors to gain exposure to academic research. He also attended the Babson Summer Study program, which helped him refine the core entrepreneurial skills he used to lead ScholarConnect. 💭 Reflecting on her journey with Freshman, Abrorbek said: “I joined Freshman Academy's Full Support almost 1.5 years ago. Since then, Valera has helped me build my extracurriculars strategically and discover what I was truly passionate about. Every single task he assigned or suggested was extremely helpful, ranging from the books and stories to the Reflections List by Freshman Academy. And the way Valera pushes students is elite. Regarding my research, I spent five months constantly reading and analyzing under the guidance of Dr. Lyusyena. Freshman Team was careful with every single detail in the application and sleepless nights with Sega, Valera and Sanjar during admissions were worth every second. What I respect the most about Freshman's approach is that they make you do the work. It might be difficult at first, but in the long-term, this is what developed my skillset and matured me as a person. They approach everyone individually, and recommend what's best for your context. I am grateful to Freshman Academy for helping me realize my dream, and to myself for making the right choice.” 🌟As Abrorbek enrolls at Bowdoin, we wish him the best on his journey exploring computer science, education, and combining the two through Ed-Tech ventures across the globe! @freshmanblog

I am often using the slang term "try-hard" and I think I picked it up from my friend. I just confirmed the meaning from the internet. What do you think it means?

There are some in Uzb fast food places too, apparently

I am realizing that a lot of people have never heard about Bowdoin, even the ones within admissions field. I'd say it's normal as Bowdoin is a very small college and not a lot of Uzbeks study there. I myself had confusion about the pronounciation of it until recently😁. It's a small liberal arts college and ranked #5 among National Liberal Arts Colleges. It's located in Maine right above Boston. I myself didn't know a lot about Bowdoin and learning new things about it every day. What do you know about Liberal Arts Colleges and Bowdoin, specifically?
