Road to Colby College; Receiving Full Financial Aid Meet Sherbek Abdurahmonov, a member of the Freshman Alumni Network and an incoming student at Colby College. Sherbek received a full $360k scholarship and a prestigious Presidential Scholar nomination of $3,000 yearly to cover additional academic, research, and internship expenses. Here is how Sherbek described his journey with Freshman:  Despite having high ambitions of studying in the most competitive schools in the US, I was insecure about my academic abilities and often found myself on the verge of giving up. Then, I joined Freshman’s Advanced English and SAT English courses, which changed everything. Initially, I had no idea where this road would take me. I thought that all I needed was to improve my SAT and writing skills, yet Freshman showed me that there is a lot more to the admissions process.  Receiving invaluable mentorship from Valera and Dr. Lyusyena, who always went the extra mile to maximize my success, I unleashed my full potential as an effective communicator, writer, and researcher. During the programs, I also met several lifelong friends, many of whom were striving for the same goal of studying at top Liberal Arts universities. At Freshman’s Alumni Network, I also received unprecedented academic and personal support, which played a crucial role not only in my admissions but also in my social life. For me, Freshman reflects compassion, professionalism, resilience, and integrity, which now define my values.  Thirty years from now, if someone asks me to tell them one of the most influential decisions I ever made, joining Freshman will undoubtedly be one of them! After his acceptance to Colby College, Sherbek joined the Freshman’s operations team and was selected as a Teacher Assistant for the Advanced English Program. Top100 Camp x Freshman Academy Selection Youth Agency, Ibrat, and Freshman Academy have organized the Top100 Camp for the fourth time. So far, the Camp has introduced more than 700 students across Uzbekistan to competitive admissions, undergraduate-level rigorous writing, research ability, and analytical skills. This year, we received around 2000 applicants for only 200 spots, resulting in a 10% acceptance rate. This popularity placed the Camp's admissions on par with the most selective colleges, such as NYU at 8%, Barnard at 9%, and Carnegie Mellon at 11%. With its extensive admissions experience, the Freshman Academy team has modeled the Camp's admissions system on the holistic approaches of the Ivy League universities. Thus, academics were only one factor among the others, such as personal motivations, goals, leadership skills, and intellectual curiosity evaluated through your essay responses. Our experienced mentors followed a comprehensive protocol developed by Freshman to review each application on a case-by-case basis. Unsurprisingly, similar to last year, some 1500+ SAT scores did not secure a spot due to our multifaceted method. The Youth Agency, Ibrat and Freshman Academy's teams reinstate that we upheld the highest degree of selection standards, confidentiality, and rigor in this process. Our decisions are final. However, they reflect the effort you put into the application and your fit with the Top100 Camp's curriculum rather than your university admissions chances. Taking the most comprehensive approach to admissions, this program has consistently produced Ivy League cases at Freshman. Deadline: August 1st 🏛 Admissions Program If you are ready to apply but need an extra push to make the application more competitive, this program is designed for you! Apart from aiding with extracurriculars and standardized tests, our Admissions Program puts a strong emphasis on the writing aspects of your application. By the end of this program, every student will graduate with an edited Personal Statement, Research Paper, and more. Co-created by Harvard Business School, the program offers three modules: Personal and Professional Development, Immersive Learning, and Aspire Horizons Course. 🦍UFC Gym x Freshman Academy Collaboration We are doing it! Freshman Academy partnered with UFC Gym to give our Alumni an exclusive instruction into the world of Mixed Martial Arts. This Thursday, our students can wrestle with each other and their favorite mentors, following the paths of Georges St-Pierre, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Valentina Shevchenko, and many other MMA legends. We are organizing two training sessions: a Hardcore Wrestling Training Session for experienced MMA practitioners and UFC-style Fitness Training for beginners. The Freshman Alumni Fund sponsored the event, so it is free for all current and past Freshman Academy students. You may join the Alumni Network by completing any Freshman program.
