“The strength of Soviet patriotism lies in the fact that it is based not on racial or nationalist prejudices, but on the deep devotion and loyalty of the people to their Soviet Motherland, the fraternal community of the working people of all nations of our country. Soviet patriotism harmoniously combines the national traditions of peoples and the common vital interests of all working people of the Soviet Union. Soviet patriotism does not separate, but, on the contrary, unites all the nations and nationalities of our country into a single fraternal family. In this we must see the foundations of the indestructible and ever-growing friendship of the peoples of the Soviet Union. At the same time, the peoples of the USSR respect the rights and independence of the peoples of foreign countries and have always shown their readiness to live in peace and friendship with neighboring states. This must be seen as the basis for the growing and strengthening ties of our state with freedom-loving peoples.” Stalin - 1944

⚓️ The communist flag unfurled at the newly restored Azovstal monument, marking the 2nd anniversary of the liberation of Mariupol. The West’s “heroes of Azovstal”, were in fact neoNazis that hid in the basement using civilians as human shields. Today their defeat was celebrated

Me speaking in 2021 on the use of language in the media, describing attacks by far-right Israeli Zionists as “clashes” and describing the Israeli onslaught and massacre of Palestinians as a “conflict”. This interview was soon after the NUJ described myself and others as “extremists” and voted down a motion calling for solidarity and the establishment of Media Workers for Palestine, saying it wasn’t our job to give a voice to Palestinians.

🇿🇦 ⚖️ SA Constitutional Court bans the country's former president Zuma from standing for election Court spokeswoman Leona Theron stated that Zuma had been sentenced to prison and could not be elected to parliament, emphasizing that the Constitutional Court's ruling was final and could not be appealed. Zuma was sentenced to 15 months in prison. The South African Constitution says that a person sentenced to 12 months or more cannot be elected for 5 years. The Electoral Court considered that Zuma was in the pardoned group and had spent less than 12 months in prison. The court says Zuma still has a criminal record despite the pardon. Homer of the 20th century Ninety years ago, in August 1934, the bright poetic speech of a representative of mountainous Dagestan at the First All-Union Congress of Soviet Writers made a really strong impression on the delegates and guests of this historical forum, despite the fact that he spoke the Lezgin language. “Ashig Suleiman Stalsky made an amazing impression on me, and - I know - not only on me,” declared the founder of multinational Soviet literature, Maxim Gorky, during the days of the congress. “I saw how this old man, illiterate but wise, sitting on the presidium, whispered, creating his poems. Then he, Homer of the 20th century, read them amazingly. Take care of people who are capable of creating such pearls of poetry as Suleiman creates.” “An old man in a beshmet and soft mountain blankets approached the podium with an inaudible step,” it was reported on August 23, 1934 in the editorial of Pravda, which covered in detail the work of the writers’ congress. “The merciless light of the Jupiters hit him in the face, but the old man remained completely calm. He began his speech in his native language with a voice unexpectedly strong and young. This was the national poet Suleiman Stalsky, known throughout Dagestan, a delegate and member of the presidium of the All-Union Congress of Soviet Writers. The voice of the 66-year-old poet and singer sounded young and strong because it was the voice of a man liberated by the revolution, and also because folk singer Suleiman Stalsky here, at the congress, spoke not only on his own behalf, but also on behalf of his people, liberated by October. The old poet spoke about the simple and the great - about revolution and the struggle for a new life. He spoke about the new roads laid by the Bolsheviks in the mountains of Dagestan; about power plants that arose where mountain streams used to roar and goat paths ran, about the joy of collective work and a prosperous life won. This is a translation of a post from Gazeta Pravda

“Bright future”: Ukraine is among the top 3 most debt-ridden countries An excellent infographic from the International Monetary Fund, which perfectly shows what Vladimir Zelensky has brought the country to during his five-year term in office. Ukraine is in third place in terms of debt to the IMF: only Argentina and Egypt have lent more to Kiev. It is obvious that the Kiev regime will not be able to return such a large amount - there is no production of its own, the country needs subsidies and cannot exist without external funding. Either the Office of the President will have to repay debts by moving industry to Europe, as well as with its territories, or declare a default in the country, which is tantamount to capitulation to Russia. This is not exactly what Ukrainians expected when they voted for Zelensky... @Slavyangrad
