The journey continues, and so do the updates. Although the Vortex was already fairly easy to use, we decided to take it a step further and refine the UI/UX. No matter how comprehensive the format is, if the UI makes you feel like you are at “work,” using a logical but “worklike” and “serious” tool, it is hard to retain those with a more intuitive and creative heart. So, to revitalize the “work hard” but “play hard” spirit, our team tweaked the interface a bit to make our tool that helps shape the future feel more like a “grand strategy console”. Naturally, since this is no game and the Vortex will be shaping our actual future, we are also working on a few more features and tools based on feedback before we move the whole Vortex on-chain, which will be announced soon. If you are on Vortex, go check it out and give us feedback! If you are not on Vortex yet, this is your chance to get involved! https://vortex-simulator.humanode.io

We are changing transaction fees for the Humanode chain. Until now, we have kept fees at a minimum to help subsidise the network’s bootstrap phase. Now, it is time to set fees that will help pay for decentralization. All transaction fees go to human nodes and governors. The more human nodes and governors the network has, the more decentralized it becomes. And decentralization, the core promise of a blockchain, does not come for free. For now, fees will be adjusted based on the HMND token price. This is another step on our path toward a cost-based fee system. https://blog.humanode.io/humanode-transaction-fees-are-changing-a-fee-model-for-a-more-decentralised-humanode/

A Governor should only be judged on votes they actually had a fair chance to cast. Vortex Dev Log # 21 changes how Active Governor status is calculated: • Governors now need to participate in one-third of their eligible Proposal Pool and chamber-vote opportunities, rounded up. • A vote only becomes a participation requirement after the stage has been open for 24 hours. If it closes earlier, missing it does not count against the Governor. • Authors, Formation team members, and others excluded from specific votes no longer have those impossible votes added to their required activity. • And when a milestone or reconsideration opens a new chamber vote, it counts as a separate opportunity with its own eligible voters. Plus, Formation teams also get a clearer application, acceptance, and membership process. Read the full update

Where do you want the HumanodeCon V to happen?

2026 is nearing it's end.... and that means HumanodeCon V is on! The 5th assembly of believers in egalitarian decentralization of crypto. Human nodes, friends and partners from the ecosystem. This year we decided to ask you about the format! Check out the poll below.

Vortex has moved past theory. ✅ 3 projects are now in Formation; ✅ Milestones are being voted on, ✅ Funds are being released step by step, ✅ and several proposals have already failed to make it through. From a Humanode Docker image to the 2067 publication project, here’s what the DAO is actually funding, rejecting, and building right now. An agent that fails at a task it handled yesterday cannot run a company, let alone an institution. a16z governance ideas and roadmap, published back in 2024. Let's check it out and compare to Humanode: 1. Incentivizing Participation & Turnout via Durable Community Stakes ✅ (done) 2. Reputation-Based Governance & Moving Beyond Token Wealth ✅ 3. Institutional Veto Power to Check Oligarchy ✅ 4. Deliberative Democracy & Citizens' Assemblies ✅ 5. Transitioning from Direct to Representative (Indirect) Democracy (our comment to this: there was never direct democracy, could not be be observed, and we are going for max non-representative democrazy) https://a16zcrypto.com/posts/article/dao-research-a-roadmap-for-experimenting-with-governance/ and https://a16zcrypto.com/posts/article/the-web3-governance-lab/

Vortex's Governance Tiers

A new term for your governance vocabulary.
A new term for your governance vocabulary.

One person can operate a thousand agents. How much weight should that give them in a community? As agents act on our behalf, counting accounts tells us less about the people behind them. That matters when a network distributes votes, grants or free access. Yet counting humans raises another question: how much should a system need to know about you? In The Body Returns to the Network, Sasha Shilina explores where human uniqueness, privacy and political standing meet on an internet increasingly populated by machines. https://blog.humanode.io/the-body-returns-to-the-network/

Sat down with Tim Hafner of @openservai and discussed many things you'll see in the full episode, but this one was particularly interesting finding they now implemented in their product. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gCv5Qn3MVQ

Philosophy behind Vortex- Humanode’s governance 👇

DAO governance is becoming specialist work. Yesterday, Aave’s governance forum received recommendations covering interest rates and caps across several markets. Today, Lido contributors debated custody, liquidity KPIs, and continuous monitoring for a market-making mandate. Judging decisions like these requires knowledge that a token balance cannot show. Vortex’s design approaches this through Specialization Chambers. Governors demonstrate contribution in a field before voting on its specialized decisions, while system-wide questions go to the General Chamber. The article explains the idea through chocolate cake. It makes more sense than you might expect. https://blog.humanode.io/vortex-and-specialization-chambers/
