| 4 |  According to the Julian calendar, the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, fell on June 24, just like the Christian Feast of St. John later on.
Although the solstice began to deviate further and further from this date over the centuries, June 24 remained linked to this feast. It was not until the introduction of the Gregorian calendar—in large parts of the Netherlands not before 1700—that the summer solstice was fixed on June 21.
By that time, the Midsummer festival was already so integrated into the Feast of St. John that the concept of Midsummer is still associated with June 24. The Dictionary of the Dutch Language defines Midsummer as:

You can tell something’s changing... and it’s not just in your head.
Time feels off. People are waking up in the middle of the night for no reason. Emotions are all over the place. Things that used to feel normal now feel heavy, forced, or just plain wrong. It’s like the world is glitching... but at the same time, something deeper is coming online.
This isn’t just a spiritual idea anymore. It’s real. The shift is happening.
You can see it in how fast the truth is coming to the surface. You can feel it in how hard it’s getting to pretend. People are quitting jobs, leaving relationships, questioning everything. And not out of chaos... out of clarity. Something in us knows we can’t keep doing things the old way.
This isn’t about fear or theories or waiting for some big event. It’s already happening in real time... inside of us, and all around us.
You can feel it in the conversations people are having. In the questions they’re asking. In the things they’re no longer willing to ignore. What once seemed normal suddenly feels impossible to look away from.
You might feel tired. Overwhelmed. Like you don’t fit in. Like the things that once made sense no longer do.
That’s not a problem... it’s part of the process.
The old systems aren’t working anymore because they were never meant to last forever. What’s built on fear, control, and disconnection can only survive for so long before truth begins to break through the cracks.
You’re not behind. You’re not broken. You’re not too sensitive.
You’re just alive… and aware… in a time when truth is finally pushing through the noise.
The shift isn’t coming.
It’s here.

En nu verschijnt ze diep in mij, alsof ze terug is gekomen op een andere zender, terwijl haar lichaam
nog in het ziekenhuis is.
De chaos in mijn leven,

nog even door.
Vreugde en verdriet liggen
soms zo dicht bij elkaar.
Ik kan dit, ik draag dit

Met tranen en een lach.
