You know well that the 106th Constitution Amendment Act, 2023 — the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam that you read and voted for, contains clear precondition. Under the provisions for reservation of seats for women ‘shall come into effect only after Delimitation exercise has been conducted, which will happen based on the first census taken after the Act's commencement.’ We all know the census was delayed due to COVID. Waiting for the post-commencement census and the subsequent delimitation exercise means the reservation cannot take effect in time for the 2029 general elections. That is precisely why, in 2026, the government brought fresh legislation Bills to enable delimitation on the basis of the already-published 2011 Census figures, expand the Lok Sabha strength, and operationalise the women’s reservation in time for the 2029 elections. Your leader Rahul Gandhi and the Congress opposed and ensured the defeat of that effort in Parliament — thereby blocking the path to implementation of women’s reservation by 2029. In 2023 you supported the 106th Amendment because you knew the NDA had the numbers and it would pass with or without your support — “तो बहती गंगा में हाथ धो लो.” The moment the real opportunity for early implementation arose, the true colours of the Congress became evident. मुख्यमंत्री श्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस: अमरावती येथील जिल्हा स्त्री रुग्णालयात काल रात्री लागलेल्या आगीत तीन बालकांचा मृत्यू झाल्याची घटना अतिशय दुःखद आणि हृदयद्रावक आहे. त्यांच्या कुटुंबियांच्या दुःखात आम्ही सहभागी आहोत. या घटनेची उच्चस्तरीय चौकशी करण्याचे आदेश आरोग्य प्रशासनाला देण्यात आले आहेत. या घटनेतील दोषींवर कठोरतील कठोर कारवाई करण्यात येईल. आरोग्य मंत्री आणि सचिव दोघांनाही आजच अमरावती येथे भेट देण्यास सांगण्यात आले आहे. मृतांच्या कुटुंबीयांना राज्य सरकारकडून 5 लाख रुपये आर्थिक मदत देण्यात येईल. जखमी बालकांवर उपचार शासकीय खर्चाने करण्याचे निर्देशही अमरावती जिल्हाधिकाऱ्यांना देण्यात आले आहेत. सुदैवाने या घटनेत 36 बालकांना सुखरूप वाचवण्यात यश मिळाले. #Amravati #Maharashtra
