❗️NYT investigation raises war crime 'concerns' after US precision strike cuts water to 20,000 people in southern Iran
A New York Times visual investigation published on 10 June confirmed that US precision strikes destroyed a drinking water facility near the Strait of Hormuz, cutting off water supplies to more than 20,000 people in the town of Bemani and surrounding villages in southern Iran.
The report said satellite imagery, geolocated photographs, and videos from the site indicate that two water storage structures were directly hit, with damage consistent with precision-guided munitions used in US operations near the strait.
The Times said it remains unclear whether the United States intentionally targeted the facility or knew the buildings were part of a civilian water distribution system. However, it noted that deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure would constitute a war crime under international law.
The investigation also cited evidence suggesting a GBU-39 precision-guided bomb was used in the strike, while a US Central Command spokesman acknowledged awareness of reports regarding damage to the facility but declined to provide further details.
According to Iranian officials cited by the Times, the destroyed facilities supplied drinking water to Bemani and nearby villages, forcing authorities to deploy water tankers and emergency measures after the attack.

"A few minutes ago, Iranian forces prevented a violating oil tanker from passing, after it entered the strait [of Hormuz] area without coordination.

| 5 | ❗️Oil prices steady as markets assess impact of escalating war on Iran
Oil prices were little changed on Thursday as investors assessed the impact of supply disruptions caused by the US-Israeli war on Iran after US President Donald Trump warned that the US military would strike Iran "very hard tonight."
By 13:03 GMT, Brent crude futures had slipped 12 cents, or 0.1%, to $92.98 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude rose 7 cents, or 0.1%, to $90.10 a barrel. | 46 |

| 7 | ❗️UAE and Iran reportedly hold first high-level security talks since start of US-Israeli war on Islamic Republic
Senior national security officials from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Iran held a face-to-face meeting this week for the first time since the start of the US-Israeli war on Iran in late February, Bloomberg claims.
The report has not been independently verified.
Bloomberg reported that the UAE's leadership is seeking stability to protect major economic ambitions, including billions of dollars in investments in oil production and artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Iran also views the relationship as strategically important, as the UAE was among its largest trading partners before the war and served as a key channel for sanctioned Iranian oil exports.
According to sources cited by Bloomberg, Abu Dhabi's latest outreach was driven by a growing realization that, while it views the Iranian government as an enemy, it is unlikely to be removed from power.
The report noted that the UAE has been hit harder by Iranian attacks than any other Gulf state since the war began and had previously taken the region's most aggressive stance toward Tehran.
However, it now appears to be following Saudi Arabia and Qatar, both of which have also come under attack but have increasingly turned to diplomacy and de-escalation efforts with Iran. | 46 |

| 9 | ❗️Trump invites Syria’s Sharaa to the White House on his birthday
Syria's self-appointed President Ahmad al-Sharaa has received an invitation to visit the US later this month, according to a diplomatic source speaking to AFP on Thursday.
The invitation follows recent remarks by Trump suggesting Syria’s potential readiness to take action against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
“President Sharaa received an invitation to head to the United States on 14 June,” the source said, speaking anonymously and without confirming whether the Syrian leader plans to attend.
The date coincides with Trump’s 80th birthday, when he is expected to host a cage fight on the White House lawn.
Trump told NBC last week that Sharaa had expressed readiness to assist against Hezbollah.
“I’d like to see a more surgical attack on Hezbollah. I think it should be more surgical. And we can help them with that, or we can recommend Syria,” he said.
“Syria’s doing a very good job of cleaning up their act. They have a very good leader. They have a leader that’s really done a good job in a short period of time. And he would love to help.”
The diplomatic source said Washington has been pressuring Syria since the beginning of the war to take action against Hezbollah in Lebanon. | 43 |

FIFA president Gianni Infantino brushed aside concerns over soaring ticket prices, visa denials, Iran’s participation, and other issues surrounding the tournament, urging reporters to “chill and relax” during a tense pre-World Cup press conference.
Among the controversies is the case of Somali referee Omar Abdulkadir Artan, the first Somali ever selected to officiate at a FIFA World Cup, who was denied entry to the US and deported from Miami despite holding a valid visa.
US authorities cited unspecified vetting and security concerns, a decision that has drawn criticism in Somalia and abroad. | 45 |

| 16 | ⭕️ Turkiye, Canada launch talks toward free trade agreement
Turkiye and Canada have agreed to begin exploratory discussions on a potential free trade agreement, according to a joint statement from their trade ministries on 9 June.
The move follows recent high-level talks between Turkish and Canadian leaders and reflects what both sides described as a shared effort to deepen economic ties and expand bilateral investment.
The statement also highlighted recent progress in air transport cooperation, including an expanded Air Transport Agreement aimed at improving connectivity.
Officials said stronger aviation links are expected to support trade, tourism, and business exchanges as both countries seek to “unlock the full potential” of their commercial relationship. | 48 |

Today, the same mistake is being repeated. The genocidal actions of Gaza Butcher Netanyahu and his cabinet are being watched with the same silence and lack of response that once greeted Hitler.
No one should forget that when a fire grows, it does not only burn the region where it starts; its sparks spread across the world.
Just as the whole world is paying the price today for the unresolved situation in the Strait of Hormuz, if Israel's lawlessness is not brought to an end, all of humanity—along with the region—will bear the consequences. (1 min, 15 sec)
