As ever in these events bad faith actors often get involved. We arrived at this event in good faith to speak and pass out literature but we have ended up being pushed aside, so we won't be at this event.
An event that was supposed to be a commemoration of the struggle of Penrhyn Quarrymen with a discussion about Class politics. Now it's just a gig hijacked by politically stunted squaddies.

| 16 | Mieka Smiles writes in the Express about Neanderthals and her fantasy of life in the stone age.
The only thing she got right in this article is that the Green wealth redistribution plan was not written by Marxists. Anyone who has read even a bit of Marx could tell that.
She makes several mistakes about neanderthal and modern human life.
For a start, neanderthals did not exist a million years ago. You could take this error with a pinch of salt, but she goes on to say individualistic one-upmanship is “quite literally a tale as old as time” when it’s quite literally a load of bollocks.
Neanderthals didn’t live in detached caves in nuclear family units. That is a very modern concept. Even in the middle ages, with its unjust feudal system, free men held land in common. That’s where the word “commoner” comes from.
Neanderthals used caves as communal spaces, with designated areas for their necessities, sleeping, toolmaking and storage. They were also known to have built tents when the need arose. Hunting was done communally, as was cooking.
Our modern DNA has between 0-6% neanderthal, as modern humans are not all direct descendents of Neanderthals. Our direct ancestors (homo sapiens) lived in a similar way to Neanderthal man, as they experienced the same environmental and material circumstances.
The main difference between the two groups though, was that homo sapiens were more inventive. They invented better tools, methods of making clothes, shoes and utilising the material they could gather. No individual did this, it had do be done collectively. If one man in the ice age tried to hoard all the flint, with the idea to trade it and improve his own living standards, he and his family would starve. The collective would take what they needed and use it to build and hunt, collectively. That’s how society grows and develops. Problems arise and people work together to overcome them, to thrive together.
I’m not writing this to be pedantic. History needs to be seen factually and critically, or it’s nothing but mythology.
This is what conservatives do: claim to be proud of our history, then piss themselves if anyone tries to “erase” it. Because it shakes their worldview. They only want us to know their false accounts, which say capitalism and individualism have always been our way of life. The truth is: things haven’t always been that way and they won’t be for much longer.

The same British state apparatus that orchestrated Loyalist collusion, protected informers and frustrated investigations remains fully intact today. Decades later, the families continue to fight for justice that has been long denied to them.
