MORNING PRAYER ~ Hail, Holy Queen HAIL, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we sigh, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Ah then, our Advocate, turn thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus, O merciful, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! (Roman Breviary) (The Raccolta, 1957) The Raccolta, 1910 adds the following after this prayer: [℣.] Make me worthy to praise thee, O Holy Virgin. [℟.] Give me strength against thine enemies. [℣.] Blessed be God in his saints. [℟.] Amen.

GOLDEN SALUTATION of the BLESSED VIRGIN MARY The Blessed Virgin revealed to St Gertrude that she rejoiced to show to those who thus saluted her the inestimable treasure of her loving compassion. And at the hour of his departure, she added, I will appear to him clothed with radiant beauty, and will pour into his soul heavenly sweetness and consolation. HAIL fair Lily of the effulgent and ever-peaceful Trinity. Hail radiant Rose of heavenly fragrance, of whom the King of heaven willed to be born, and with thy milk to be fed; uphold and succor me, a miserable sinner, now and at the hour of my death. St. Bridget’s Prayer O ! Blessed Virgin Mary, Immaculate Mother of God, who didst endure a martyrdom of love and grief, beholding the Sufferings and Sorrows of Jesus; thou didst co-operate in the benefit of my redemption by thy innumerable afflictions, and by offering to the Eternal Father His Only Begotten Son, as a Holocaust and Victim of propitiation for my sins. I thank thee for the unspeakable love which led thee to deprive thyself of the fruit of thy womb, Jesus, true God and true Man to save me, a sinner. Oh ! use the unfailing intercession of thy Sorrows with the Father and the Son, that I may steadfastly amend my life and never again crucify my loving Redeemer by new sins, and that persevering till death in His grace, I may obtain eternal life through the merits of His Cross and Passion. Three Hail Mary’s. ~ St. Bridget ~ Manual of the Sorrows (1861)

PRAYER To Our Almighty Father Almighty Father, come into our hearts, and so fill us with Thy love that forsaking all evil desires, we may embrace Thee, our only good. Show us, O Lord our God, what Thou art to us. Say to our souls, I am your salvation, speak so that we may hear. Our hearts are before Thee; open our ears; let us hasten after Thy voice. Hide not Thy Face from us, we beseech Thee, O Lord. Open our hearts so that Thou may enter in. Repair the ruined mansions, that Thou may dwell therein. Hear us, O Heavenly Father, for the sake of Thy only Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with Thee and the Holy Spirit, one God now and forever. Amen. ~ attributed to St. Augustine

2 of 2 ✧❁❁✧✿✿✧❁❁✧ Luke 7, 11-16. At that time, Jesus went to a town called Naim; and His disciples and a large crowd went with Him. And as He drew near the gate of the town, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a large gathering from the town was with her. And the Lord, seeing her, had compassion on her, and said to her, “Do not weep.”. And He went up and touched the stretcher; and the bearers stood still. And He said, “Young man, I say to thee, arise.” And he who was dead, sat up, and began to speak. And He gave him to his mother. But fear seized upon all, and they began to glorify God, saying, “A great prophet has risen among us,” and “God has visited His people.” S. Praise be to Thee, O Christ. 1 of 2 FIFTEENTH SUNDAY after PENTECOST Today’s Gospel shows us Christ’s compassion for a widowed mother whose dead son was being carried out for burial. The Gospel prefigures another mother, the Church, who weeps unceasingly over the spiritual death of so many of Her children whom She would conduct to the grace of Jesus Christ. Let us remember, therefore, that if by chance we have lost His grace by sinning, our Savior has founded His Church, within which we may again arise in virtue of His Most Precious Blood. (continued)
