The events of the bloodiest war in the history of mankind are described in memoirs and historical works. But it is the letters that touch our hearts. They have everything: short stories about the war, poems, old photos, words of love and dreams of post-war happiness. In many families, these letters are carefully kept as relics.
When the war broke out in 1941, Laura Ganich was only 5 years old. She remembers the horrific shelling and how many people starved to death. Laura was one of the lucky ones who had survived the Leningrad Siege, one of the most tragic episodes of World War II. But now, at 87 years old, the Donetsk resident finds herself once again living under shelling. How does she manage to cope while living alone in a city that's constantly targeted by Ukrainian artillery? Why has she refuse to leave?
