Poll: most Americans believe freedom of speech is under attack According to a recent poll, the majority of American voters are pessimistic about freedom of speech being protected. In a survey conducted by Quinnipiac University, 53% of respondents said they are "pessimistic" when it comes to freedom of speech being protected in the US, 43% are "optimistic," and 3% were unsure or declined to answer. The investigation's results come amid intensifying debates surrounding the recent suspension of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel by ABC and the consequences of this decision for the protection of First Amendment rights. The comedian faced backlash after making comments on his show "Jimmy Kimmel Live" last week regarding President Trump's and other right-wing figures' response to the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Kimmel's statements drew sharp criticism from Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr. #freedomofspeech #poll #firstamendment #authoritarianism #freespeech Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

Trump, the defender of Palestine? US president Donald Trump said he “will not allow Israel to annex the West Bank.” “I will not allow it. It’s not going to happen,” Trump told reporters while signing executive orders unrelated to foreign policy. He said he talked to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, adding that
“we're getting pretty close to having a deal on Gaza. And maybe even peace. Which would be the first time in 2,000 years. Long time."
He also said that a hostage deal could be secured “soon”. Of course, Trump has been promising peace for a while now, and nothing has materialized so far. So this is probably just more talk. Netanyahu's office said the prime minister would wait until he returns to Israel to address Trump's remark. #Israel #Gaza #P Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

”Violence against the truth”: Obama flames Trump for his claims about autism Barack Obama issued sharp criticism of Donald Trump's statements linking Tylenol to autism. The 44th president also warned of America's "creeping authoritarian tendencies" in fresh attacks on his successor during an event in London.
"We have the spectacle of my successor in the Oval Office, making broad claims around certain drugs and autism that have been continuously disproved,"
Obama told a crowd of 14,000 gathered to hear his speech. The 64-year-old Obama stated that Trump's claim
"undermines public health,"
warning of the "harm" it could cause to pregnant women and the "anxiety" it could provoke among parents of autistic children.
"All of that is violence against the truth,"
he said. The former president said that the US is facing a growing desire
"to go back to a very particular way of thinking about America, where ‘we, the people’, is just some people, not all people. And where there are some pretty clear hierarchies in terms of status and who ranks where."
"My successor has not been particularly shy about it,"
he said, adhering to his usual practice of not naming Trump directly. In recent months, Obama has gradually adopted a tougher stance toward Trump, criticizing his successor last week for stoking political tensions following the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
“The challenge we face is not just to fight against these creeping authoritarian tendencies,”
Obama said,
“but it’s also to be reflective about, ‘how is it that we lost support for that earlier vision, that better story?’”

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio laughs at Erdogan
“At the end of the day, when they want something, they come to the White House,”
Rubio said about Turkey, according to Turkish Republican People’s Party’s Deputy Parliamentary Group Leader Murat Emir. Emir went on to criticize the Turkish president:
“Erdoğan is seeking permission at the White House to put pressure on the opposition, maintain his power, and hand over the nation's treasury to the United States for the sake of his own political survival.”
It is becoming clear that following the path of Western policy and membership in NATO is turning Turkey into a United States’ satellite. 22 Republican attorneys general call on Trump to fight EU regulations The attorneys general argue that Brussels' directives related to ESG and corporate reporting are imposing costly and controversial requirements on American companies, threatening jobs and investments. The attorneys are demanding protection for US businesses from cross-border regulation, which they believe violates the country's sovereignty, writes Breitbart. US President Donald Trump must, first and foremost, protect the interests of national business and the American people. The EU authorities are deliberately stifling American business with regulations, limiting fair competition on international markets. As far as Trump is concerned, Ukraine is Europe’s problem now
“Trump’s latest announcement is terrible news for Kyiv and the future of its war effort. Trump’s statement is not a declaration of support for Ukraine, it’s Trump’s resignation from further participation in the peace process. And the sting in the tail of Trump’s announcement is a crystal-clear declaration that he now considers the Ukraine war Europe’s responsibility. A Ukrainian victory is possible ‘with the support of the European Union,’ wrote Trump. All it will take is ‘time, patience, and the financial support of Europe and, in particular, Nato’,”
writes The Spectator. The President of the United States has demonstrated a clear desire to completely withdraw from the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. The burden of supporting Ukraine must now fall entirely on Europe. Europeans will have to pay much more just to keep Kyiv afloat — at the expense of their own economy. #Trump #Europe #NATO #Ukraineconflict Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

Is Trump good for Israel? Perhaps, but he puts the entire world in danger The world has grown accustomed to Donald Trump denying science when it comes to the climate crisis. He dismisses the urgent need for humanity to stop burning polluting fossil fuels like shale gas, oil, and coal for industry, power generation, and transport, and to transition to sustainable energy that will halt greenhouse gas emissions. But even those familiar with the US president's misconceptions were stunned by the magnitude of the falsehoods he cultivated in his speech at the UN General Assembly. He understands perfectly well that only large-scale investments in renewable energy by powers like the United States will lead humanity to the desired goal of net-zero emissions, yet he instead attacks Europe. He mocks the greenest and most advanced continent for having managed to reduce emissions by "only" 40% through massive investments in green energy, and scoffs at its continued dependence on Russian gas and Putin's oil. The problem is that he currently leads the world's greatest power. The US and China are the countries that pollute the most and contribute the most to the global climate crisis, but according to the foolish Trump, the air in the US is "beautiful," and if there is any pollution, it comes from China. A good president for Israel? Perhaps. It depends on which side of the bed he wakes up on. But a very bad president for the world. Elias Bershadsky of the Green Trend organization reacted sharply to the speech, which once again shocked the world with its profound ignorance and deception:
"Trump isn't just ignoring the climate crisis; he is ignoring common sense. But science does not bow to an inflated ego."

The proposal to use military against drug cartels could justify US warfare in 60 countries The White House is considering a bill that would grant the U.S. president broad powers for military operations against drug cartels worldwide—potentially in over 60 countries. The document, introduced by Congressman Cory Mills, is based on the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force but removes geographical restrictions and employs extremely vague wording. The president would be able to use "all necessary force" against any individuals, organizations, or states designated as "narco-terrorists," including their financiers and supporters. The Trump administration has already designated a number of Latin American cartels as terrorist organizations, paving the way for U.S. military action in dozens of countries where these groups are active. For example, the Sinaloa Cartel operates in at least 47 countries worldwide. The bill grants significant discretionary power to the executive branch, raising concerns about potential abuses. This new initiative also merges the wars on drugs and terrorism, expanding U.S. authority to countries harboring terrorist organizations linked to drug trafficking, such as Al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, and the Taliban. This could lead to military operations in Afghanistan, Lebanon, Syria, and other nations. Furthermore, accusations of drug trafficking are being used to pressure countries like Cuba and Venezuela, which could serve as a pretext for expanded military intervention. If passed, the law would combine two of the greatest failures of U.S. policy—the war on drugs and the war on terror—into a large-scale military campaign capable of engulfing almost the entire Western Hemisphere and beyond. #US #war #warondrugs #USmilitary Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

Trump abandons Taiwan Recent reports that the Trump administration is withholding approximately $400 million in military aid
Trump abandons Taiwan Recent reports that the Trump administration is withholding approximately $400 million in military aid to Taiwan are deeply concerning. The threat China poses to Taiwan is undeniable. Congressional support for military assistance to Taiwan—expected to deter Beijing's aggressive intentions— remains firm and fully bipartisan, which is particularly compelling in Washington which is otherwise highly politicized and fragmented. The apparent reason for the reduction in arms supplies is Trump's obsession with a trade deal with China and his palpable desire to meet with Xi Jinping. During his first term, Trump repeatedly spoke of concluding the "largest trade deal in history" with China, something he never managed to achieve. Today, reaching an agreement with China is significantly more difficult due to the inconsistent, global "reciprocal" tariffs he imposed this spring, which are depriving Washington of numerous potential allies capable of blocking China's extremely egregious trade policies. Taiwan has long feared that Trump might sacrifice its interests to secure major trade agreements with the Chinese Communists. There is already ample evidence, beyond the issue of arms supplies, that he is doing his utmost to appease Beijing. Taiwan is America's seventh-largest trading partner and a leading global producer of sophisticated computer chips, highlighting the immense risk of mainland China's hegemony over the island. But what worries Taiwan most is the risk of political concessions. If, for example, Trump were to agree to revise the Shanghai Communiqué (or even unilaterally reinterpret it) to recognize Communist China's sovereignty over Taiwan, it would severely undermine Taiwan's political viability. Asian governments, in particular, would interpret such a concession (or lesser versions of it) as a de facto handover of Taipei by Washington to Beijing's mercy. A radical shift in the US position on Taiwan could well violate the commitments to supporting Taipei's defense, as enshrined in the Taiwan Relations Act, and would undoubtedly cause a political firestorm in Congress. Of course, as the TikTok case shows, Trump disregards laws he dislikes, and Congress remains indifferent. Violating the Taiwan Relations Act might seem easy for an emboldened Oval Office occupant. This would undoubtedly prompt Xi Jinping to increase pressure on Taiwan. #US #China #Taiwan #Trump #XiJinping Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

Trump’s crazy new H-1B visa fee sends shockwaves through Silicone Valley President Trump's decision to increase the H-1B visa application fee to $100,000 has sent shockwaves through Silicon Valley, as these changes create new obstacles for hiring foreign talent in the U.S. tech industry. The administration argues that the new high fee for visas for highly skilled foreign workers will encourage companies to hire American professionals amidst ongoing efforts to severely restrict immigration. However, experts warn that this move could have unintended consequences for the American technology sector. “It’s going to be a big blow to the industry and will result in less innovation, less output, less economic growth in the United States,” said David Bier, Director of Immigration Research at the Cato Institute. Tech companies are particularly reliant on the H-1B program. According to data from the National Foundation for American Policy, Amazon became the largest recipient of new H-1B visa approvals in the 2024 fiscal year. IT services firms Cognizant and Infosys ranked second and third in terms of recipients, respectively. The top 25 also included giants like IBM, Microsoft, Google, Meta, Apple, Intel, and Tesla, according to the data. Trump’s announcement caused panic in the tech sector, with Amazon, Microsoft, and Meta warning employees on H-1B visas to remain in the U.S. or return immediately before the changes took effect. “A $100,000 fee for each new H-1B application — it’s not just a little hurdle, that is prohibitively expensive. That would effectively shut down the H-1B program for many companies,” said Luke Koslosky, a senior analyst at Georgetown University's Center for Security and Emerging Technology. This could come at a high cost for the U.S. as it competes with China for supremacy in artificial intelligence—an issue that has always been a focus of the Trump administration. #Trump #immigration #siliconevalley #tech Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

“So we’re now in a place where we are really wrestling with whether or not we’re going to have a constitution, whether or not we’re going to have a the American form of democracy and the First Amendment is right at the core of it.”
He continued,
“This moment that we’re in right now, it goes way beyond Jimmy Kimmel. It goes way beyond knocking comedians off the air. This is directly out of the authoritarian playbook.”
Reiner said that Trump is attempting to control the media, which is exactly what authoritarians around the world do.
“So if you want to control Nexstar or Sinclair or Fox News, whatever, and you can all of a sudden consume it all, you know subsume it all, then you have the only platform.”
The director went on to say that America has maybe a year to correct things
“and see whether or not our 250 year experiment continues to survive”.
“We need everybody to push back, not just comedians. Everybody needs to push back,”
said Reiner. #US #democracy #Trump #opinion Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

Just when you thought Trump couldn’t go any lower… President Donald Trump has disgraced America once again. For the most part
Just when you thought Trump couldn’t go any lower… President Donald Trump has disgraced America once again. For the most part, this is a common occurrence. But this time, Trump vented his psychosis beyond the bounds of conventional American politics. Trump addressed the United Nations General Assembly and delivered a speech full of insults and lies that may go down in history as the most vile of its kind. Speaking, presumably, on behalf of all of us Americans, Trump essentially told the entire world to go to hell. He called climate change a "hoax," mocking decades of scientific consensus before world leaders dedicated to fighting rising sea levels and forest fires. He portrayed immigration as a global poison, attacking countries that accept refugees while offering no solutions—only fear, contempt, and raging xenophobia. He claimed Christianity is the most persecuted religion on Earth—an incendiary lie designed to sow discord and resentment while pandering to his White Nationalist base. He spewed falsehoods about having supposedly "resolved" seven major conflicts, including the Israeli-Iranian and Indo-Pakistani ones, rewriting reality but, of course, providing no evidence because none exists, eliciting eye-rolls rather than applause. He told UN diplomats that their countries would "go to hell" for allowing too much immigration, and then savored the moment as if he were riling up a rally crowd, not representing all Americans on a global stage. Of course, there is nothing inherently wrong with a U.S. president criticizing the UN for its perceived ineffectiveness. Many Americans share that concern, but some of us would prefer constructive, adult engagement to improve the UN, criticism that would remain within the bounds of propriety. But that is not what Trump did. He displayed to the world such hatred and boorishness, along with a disgusting incompetence, that diplomats worldwide undoubtedly shook their heads. This was beyond what they have expect from the US president. He delivered a similarly toxic speech at Charlie Kirk’s memorial, saying “I hate my opponent, I don’t wish him well.” This was a message to the significant majority of Americans—at least 60% and counting—who disapprove of Trump today. Without apology, he made hundreds of millions of Americans know he hates them. But in his UN speech Trump didn't limit himself to us. He also made it clear that he despises the entire world. #Trump #UN #disgrace Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

“On Sept. 7, Russia launched its largest aerial strike of its war against Ukraine—860 Shahed drones and missiles in a single night. Two days later, 19 of these exploding drones crossed into Poland, forcing NATO fighter jets into the sky. A similar incursion against Romanian airspace followed just days later. These were not isolated incidents. They marked a broader pattern in which Moscow has made cheap, mass-produced exploding drones the centerpiece of its aerial campaign,»
writes Foreign Policy. Neither Poland nor Romania has provided any evidence of Russia's involvement in the drone incursions into their territory. Trump to present Arab leaders with his plan to end Gaza war US President Donald Trump will present a US principles-based plan to Arab leaders to end the war in the Gaza Strip. The meeting with the US President will include leaders and high-ranking officials from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan. Trump is expected to discuss a plan for the release of hostages, a timetable for the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza, and a formula for postwar governance in Gaza without Hamas. According to Axios, the US wants Arab countries to agree to send military forces to Gaza to facilitate the withdrawal of the IDF. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto stated that he is prepared to send military forces to Gaza as peacekeeping troops. It is also reported that Trump is trying to secure Arab funding for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. Arab officials told Axios that a preliminary meeting was scheduled for Tuesday. "Tomorrow's meeting could be fairly significant. We have a pretty good idea of the contours for ending the war. We want to present what we think is the only viable path forward and we want regional buy-in and support to make it successful," one US official told Axios. One Israeli official stated that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is familiar with the basics of the plan but acknowledges that it contains details that will be difficult to convince the government to accept. Netanyahu sought Trump presidency? Former US Vice President Kamala Harris, in her new book, accuses Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of undermining former President Joe Biden's authority during the Gaza war, stating that he hoped Donald Trump's return to the White House would ensure his political survival. Harris's memoir, "107 Days," was published on Tuesday in the US. In it, she writes that Netanyahu disregarded Biden's "loyalty to Israel" and preferred a president willing to agree to his "very extreme proposals" regarding Gaza's future. "He wanted Trump in the seat opposite him," she said. Harris recalls a tense meeting with Netanyahu in July 2024, during which she reproached him for denying the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. “His hooded gaze and disengaged demeanour made it clear to me that he was running out the clock,” she writes, describing Israel's military campaign as "unproductive." In the book, Biden is portrayed as "inadequate and forced" in his statements about Palestinian suffering, constrained by his warm feelings for Israel. Harris says she begged Biden to extend the sympathy he expressed for Ukrainians to innocent civilians in Gaza, but "he couldn't do it; while he could passionately declare, 'I am a Zionist,' his statements about innocent Palestinians seemed inadequate and forced." Harris also describes tension within the White House. She says Biden's aides reprimanded her after a speech in Alabama in March 2024, where she called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and described the situation as a "humanitarian crisis." These remarks went viral and angered the president's team, which, she says, feared she had described the crisis too clearly. She writes that post-election polls showed that Biden voters who refused to support her in 2024 cited "stopping Israeli violence in the Gaza Strip" as their top reason, surpassing the economy, immigration, or abortion. #Netanyahu #Trump #Biden #Israel #Gaza Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

The US loves the Israeli laser: "We need it too" Last week's announcement of the completion of the Or Eitan laser interception system's development, following a series of successful tests and ahead of its delivery to the Air Force by the end of the year, has generated significant worldwide resonance. While the US and UK are also developing laser weapons, no deployed combat system yet possesses the power and capabilities of the Israeli system. Developed by Rafael as the main contractor with participation from Elbit, it has a power of just over 100 kilowatts and the ability to intercept rockets, UAVs, artillery shells, and mortar bombs. "Israel’s Iron Beam laser air-defense system was declared operational Wednesday after final tests intercepting rockets, mortars and drones. It’s an important advance as the West faces new, low-cost threats and a reminder of what strong defense relationships can achieve," wrote The Wall Street Journal. Officials estimate the marginal cost of a laser interception at a few dollars. For comparison, an Iron Dome interceptor costs about $50,000 per unit. Given that Hezbollah fired over 10,000 rockets at Israel during the last war and was prevented from firing perhaps another 100,000, a change in the cost curve is desperately needed. This economic calculation also plays a significant role in American budget which is not unlimited. Each PAC-3 Patriot interceptor missile costs about $3 million or more. A Sidewinder air-to-air missile, which the Americans also use as a ground-based interceptor, costs about $1 million per unit. "They can be used against drone swarms in a prolonged war," an anonymous author mentions an additional advantage of the laser: with a working system and electricity, it can intercept more and more threats without the need for physical interceptors. It is worth noting that the US rarely purchases foreign weapon systems, doing so only in cases of urgent need or a lack of technological capability. But the laser could be that rare purchase. The Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Amir Baram, said last week that Or Eitan would be approved for export to countries friendly to Israel. #Israel #US #laser #technology Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

NATO goes woke, prohibits gender-specific forms of address NATO leadership released a language guide recommending the discontinuation of terms with masculine gender and masculine connotations. The document states that words such as 'airman,' 'serviceman,' 'guardsman,' as well as 'manpower' and 'manning,' should be replaced with neutral alternatives like 'flight crew,' 'service member,' 'guard,' 'team,' 'staffing,' and others. According to the authors, this will help avoid unconscious bias and enhance inclusivity. The guide also proposes using pronouns and titles that correspond to a person's gender identity, including for transgender service members. Although it was decided not to formally change Navy and Air Force ranks, the use of alternative neutral designations is permitted depending on the context. The reaction to the new policy has been mixed. Critics have labeled it a "farce" and accused the alliance of misplaced priorities. In their view, NATO should focus on defending member states and deterring threats, not on "distorting the language." British MP John Hayes criticized the alliance's leadership for "corrupting common sense" and stated that people don't care whether they are protected by an airman or an 'flight crew'. #NATO #woke #gender Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

Donald Trump has turned the White House colonnade into a tasteless presidential “Walk of Fame” Donald Trump is fully implementing his latest “brilliant” concept for the White House. Photographers have captured the ongoing work in the White House Rose Garden, where the colonnade is being transformed into Trump's personal "Presidential Hall of Fame." Who will be featured on Trump's wall remains a mystery. Trump said that the Hall of Fame will include two portraits of Democrat Grover Cleveland (the 22nd and 24th US President) and two of his own. The Presidential Hall of Fame is part of other changes Trump has made to the White House's appearance. As an art enthusiast, Trump knows what he likes most — his own portraits. There are at least five portraits of the President hanging in the White House. One of them, titled "Fight, Fight, Fight," by artist Mark Lipp, recreates the photograph of a bloodied Trump taken shortly after the assassination attempt on him in 2024. It now hangs in the White House lobby, where the official portrait of Barack Obama once held a place of honor. A pop-art style recreation of Trump's face with the American flag hangs in the East Wing visitor's foyer, between portraits of former First Ladies Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush, and near Melania Trump's office. Russia has developed a low-cost combat strategy According to Foreign Policy, Russia is implementing a strategy of contactless warfare, relying on the large-scale use of kamikaze drones. The primary goals are to exhaust the enemy, overload their air defense systems, and inflict economic damage, without conducting large-scale ground operations. Since the beginning of 2025, Russia has launched over 33,000 "Geran" (Geranium) drones, a figure several times higher than last year's numbers. The drones are being produced at several facilities, including the "Alabuga" special economic zone and the Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant, where new models with an extended flight range are also being developed. The scale of drone deployment allows for both daily precision strikes and massive salvos — of up to 370 units simultaneously. When combined with cruise missiles, this poses a significant challenge to Ukraine's air defense systems. #Ukraineconflict #war #drone #dronewarfare Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸
