| 13 |  Loyalty is a paradoxical concept that merges the metaphysical with established reality. It is something that one can not buy, yet, still earn. It can not be requested, only offered. Though it seemingly only exists within our minds, it deeply affects the world around us.
Loyalty itself is not alive, yet, somehow, it lives. It is something that we can and can not see. That we can and can not feel. It is something that we may or may not experience in both life, and death.
Loyalty is the contradiction, and the evidence. It's perpetual presence, or lack thereof, neverendingly confirm or undermine it's existence. It, like love, is one of philosophy's most unanswerable conundrums.
But, even though it will always remain a philosophical dilemma, we can be sure that despite loyalty having absolutely no financial value, it is still more valuable than anything that does. | 1 |

A lesson from folklore
While honorable conduct is pivotal to any traditional society, our forefathers understood that there’s a big difference between a fair fight with your kinfolk and killing outsiders. In Slavic epic songs the heroes sometimes end up fighting each other for one reason or another ranging from a simple misunderstanding to a contest of strength. When they do there’s always a set of rules and the duel often ends in the two becoming friends. Meanwhile when fighting foreign enemies there’s no rules. For example, Alesha used a trick to behead Tugarin the Dragon. It’s not okay to trick your own, but with foreign enemies it’s fine to do whatever it takes to win.
