It’s been a while since I’ve visited at night, especially with all the lights. And wow, so much has changed, so many new restaurants, tourists everywhere, everything is clean, there’s pleasant music playing.
But the funniest (or maybe slightly sad) thing I remember from that night was me automatically offering to take pictures of literally everyone I saw trying to take photos😂 It’s such a normal thing in the US . you see someone struggling to take a picture, you offer to take it for them, and everyone is usually happy about it.
The tourists were genuinely happy when I offered. Then I saw an Uzbek girl and, without even thinking, extended my hand to offer help… and she literally ignored my hand😭
My friends saw me standing there with my hand still in the air and immediately started: "Jahona, hammasi yaxshi bòb ketadi. Here, take my hand. Shake it."🤣
I was SO embarrassed. I genuinely wished I had never approached them in the first place. 😭
