UPDATE: A desperate search is underway for more than 1,500 people still missing after catastrophic flooding devastates Nepal and Tibet. At least 547 people are dead, with about 90 Americans among those still unaccounted for. MEDIA BLACKOUT: Two young people were shot and killed in Louisiana, a 17-year-old is charged with TWO counts of first-degree murder, and somehow this story has barely gone farther than local news. Gonzales police say Joseph Appiah, 17 (pictured left) is charged in the deaths of Tegan Daigle, 17, and Jared Downey, 21, after officers responding to gunfire found both victims dead near Downey's home. Appiah also faces criminal-conspiracy, aggravated-assault, drug and firearms charges. Search their names and watch how quickly the coverage dries up once you get outside Louisiana. Two young people are dead. A teenager is facing the most serious murder charges possible. Their families' lives are destroyed. Apparently that STILL wasn't enough to make this national - but if the race roles were reversed, it would be a different story.
