NEW: Nearly a dozen partygoers were arrested after a gathering in the Inland Empire turned violent, with some attacking police officers.
San Bernardino Police Department officers were originally dispatched to the 500 block of West 9th Street in San Bernardino on reports of a suspicious person, a spokesperson for the agency confirmed to KTLA.
“The suspect had run into the backyard of a private residence,” the spokesperson said.
Officers went to detain the suspect in the backyard when one of them was assaulted by another person in the backyard, the spokesperson added. More guests then joined the fray, eliciting a request for backup.
Additional officers, including some from other nearby departments, quickly rushed to the scene and eventually restored order.
“The initial suspect was arrested, along with ten other people who were attending the party,” the SBPD representative stated.
The extent of their charges was not disclosed.

WATCH: A shooting suspect was taken down just moments after allegedly opening fire into a crowd in Tucson, Arizona, injuring nine people.
Police say the suspect, David French, was shot and wounded by an officer as he tried to flee.
On probation for 2024 shooting. Cops have to keep confronting and arresting the same hoodlums over & over. While the rest of the people in the criminal justice system recklessly let them go.

BREAKING OVERNIGHT: One person is dead and seven others are injured following a suspected shooting during an unsanctioned event in a field near Hale Avenue and Miramonte Avenue in unincorporated Morgan Hill on Saturday night, Santa Clara County CA Sheriff’s Office officials said.
"At about 10:16 p.m. on July 25, Santa Clara County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Hale Avenue near Miramonte Avenue after reports of intoxicated people in the street and a person throwing bottles at cars.
Deputies arrived to find a chaotic scene as more than 300 partygoers were hurrying to leave after several gunshots were fired. Multiple people had been shot and required immediate medical attention.
Deputies provided lifesaving aid until emergency medical personnel arrived. Several victims were taken to local hospitals, and one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Morgan Hill Police Department, Gilroy Police Department, California Highway Patrol and San Jose Police Department responded to assist. Their coordinated efforts supported lifesaving measures, scene security, traffic control, investigative work, and overall public safety.
A relocation area was established for people arriving at the scene and attempting to find friends or family members who had attended the gathering.
Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives believe this was an isolated incident. Preliminary information indicates the weapon used was a handgun.
The gathering was an unsanctioned party promoted through social media. Detectives are actively following up on leads and working to identify the person or persons responsible.
This is expected to be a lengthy and complex homicide investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available."

19YO OUT ON BAIL FOR ANOTHER FELONY CHARGE, BRUTALLY STABS CALIFORNIA ART GALLERY MANAGER TO DEATH
A 73-year-old California artist and gallery manager was killed in a stabbing outside Capitola Mall on Monday. The suspect, Tyler Leibelt, was already free on bail awaiting trial in another felony case when Summers was killed, a detail that has intensified criticism from many who argue that California’s criminal justice system is grossly negligent in their leniency toward dangerous offenders.
Before encountering Summers, Leibelt claims to have considered attacking an elderly Asian man across the street but decided against it because he wasnt an easy target. Court documents say he stalked Summer's, before chasing her down at full speed, stabbing her more than 11 times.
Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the attack or has photographs, video recordings or other information that could assist with the investigation to contact the Capitola Police Department at 831-475-4242.
