Vacancy Announcement About SPHMMC & The ICAF Project St. Paul's Hospital Millennium Medical College (SPHMMC) was established by a decree of the Council of Ministers in 2010, although the hospital was founded in 1968, and medical education started in 2007. A board now oversees it under the federal Ministry of Health. The college launched Ethiopia’s first integrated modular and hybrid problem-based curriculum for undergraduate medical students and is currently expanding into various postgraduate and fellowship programs. ICAF is a research project designed to develop solutions that support informed family planning decision-making, from initial counseling through follow-up care. It also seeks to produce and test innovative models for better integrating side-effect counseling and follow-up support into contraceptive care. The ICAF Project builds on the successful piloting and refinement of the Mittin intervention materials and approaches. The project is now conducting a cluster randomized controlled trial (C-RCT) evaluating the effectiveness and implementation of the Mittin intervention in public primary health care facilities in Addis Ababa between January and August 2026. The evaluation will have three major data-collection rounds: a baseline survey, a midline survey four months later, and an endline survey eight months after baseline. We are recruiting qualified Research Assistants and Field Supervisors who can commit to all three rounds. Summary: The ICAF Project seeks dedicated Research Assistants and Field Supervisors to support three rounds of data collection. RAs will conduct Open data kit (ODK)-based interviews, uphold data quality and ethical standards, ensure confidentiality, attend required trainings, and report daily on field progress. Supervisors will oversee RA performance, ensure data quality, manage logistics, troubleshoot field issues, and provide daily updates while coordinating closely with the Research Coordinator. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision. 1. Position: Research Assistants (RAs) • Duty Station: Addis Ababa, SPHMMC • Required Number: 20 Research Assistants • Duration of employment: 8 months with Possible extension • Salary: Based on the project Salary scale Duties and Responsibilities • Conduct structured interviews using ODK in all three survey rounds. • Maintain high-quality and ethical data collection standards. • Ensure participant confidentiality and follow informed-consent protocols. • Attend all required trainings before each survey round. • Report daily to supervisors and document field challenges. • Perform any related activity assigned by the field supervisor and coordinator Required qualifications: Female candidates with the required professional and academic credentials described below can apply for the position.
