📢 URGENT APPEAL TO THE CONCERNED UNIVERSITIES AND AUTHORITIES: PLEASE RECONSIDER THE EXAMINATION SCHEDULES
We would like to bring to the attention of the concerned authorities and the public a serious scheduling issue affecting many job applicants, particularly medical doctors seeking employment opportunities.
Two universities (Dilla and Wolkite) have scheduled their recruitment examinations for General Practitioner(GP) on the same date and at the same time. Many applicants applied to both institutions and were shortlisted for their examinations, but the overlapping schedules make it impossible to attend both of them.
Furthermore, the conflict also affects some doctors who have been called for interviews by the Addis Ababa Health Bureau, forcing them to face an equally difficult choice between important career opportunities.
Adding to these challenges, the examination schedules were announced only three days in advance. For applicants traveling from distant areas, this is insufficient time to arrange transportation, accommodation, and other necessary preparations.
We respectfully request the concerned universities and relevant authorities to:
• Coordinate and reconsider the overlapping examination and interview schedules.
• Provide at least one week's advance notice whenever possible.
• Consider the difficulties faced by applicants traveling from distant areas.
We understand that organizing recruitment examinations for large numbers of applicants is challenging. However, better coordination and reasonable advance notice would help ensure that qualified candidates are not unnecessarily deprived of opportunities simply because of scheduling conflicts.
We are not asking for preferential treatment. We are asking for fairness, reasonable consideration, and an equal opportunity to compete.
We call upon social media influencers, concerned citizens, and relevant authorities to amplify this concern and help bring about a practical solution before these opportunities are lost.
