To the men of the tribe, What does it mean to be a hero? Exactly what is the quality that certain men have that makes other people write stories of their deeds and sing their songs long after their deaths? Is that quality still being propagated amongst the people or has it somehow been bred out or stolen from us? To answer these questions, we must take a clear look at the men our ancestors called heroes. When doing so, we very often find that they are not just men, but often demigods or those born to the lineage of the divine ones. Sons of Ingui and Zeus and Lugh. Of Woden they had come, with blood blessed to be mighty. It is from these divine ancestors that they are said to derive their unique abilities and powers. Cú Chulainn, Sigi, the Ynglings, and Heracles; they all trace their lineage to the Gods, and by the Gods they are empowered. The fact is then, that with this blood one would be empowered with this quality and could also take on the divine qualities of their hero ancestors and have their own songs echoing in the halls of the folk long after their bones are dust. We still have this blood, and the Gods live in us yet. You, right now, who reads this has the power to take on the mantle of a hero for your people, because their blood flows through you. When faced by danger some men have a feeling in their chest that is the divine will of the ancestors and of the Gods. We need heroes, our people willing to fight against monsters unaided, and the call has gone out. When facing Grendel, the people needed Beowulf. When facing the dragon Fafnir, Sigurd answered the call. For this new monster, we need you. Time to be a hero. Join the warband. Steven, Dróttnari RFU ⚡ ravenfolkunited.org

Supper the Irminfolk Hof For years, the Irminfolk Odinist Community has hosted gatherings, rites, and seasonal observances, steadily building a committed and growing body of worshippers. As attendance increased and the need for consistency became clear, they took the next step and purchased a permanent Hof. Securing this space provides stability for religious services, education, and fellowship. It also brings ongoing responsibility. As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Irminfolk Odinist Community is committed to maintaining the property in a responsible and sustainable manner. Donations go directly toward mortgage payments, insurance, utilities, property maintenance, and necessary improvements to keep the Hof operational year-round. Contributions may be tax-deductible as allowed by law. If you value the presence of a permanent sacred space and the work that has built it, please consider making a donation or supporting the Hof through the purchase of community merchandise.

Spring has long been marked with symbols of renewal, and the decorated egg became part of European seasonal folk art. These hand-painted ceramic eggs continue that tradition through careful craftsmanship and intentional design. The crystal work draws from Swarovski, known since 1895 for precision-cut stones that reflect light with clarity. Each stone is set by hand, adding depth and contrast to the painted surface. If you value skilled craftsmanship and seasonal art with character, take a look. They are distinctive pieces that stand out in any spring display. https://futhark.org/product/hand-painted-ceramic-egg-with-swarovski-stones/

Welcome PNW Wolfpack! Raven Folk United has been working diligently to create a community that unites our folk within a framework that allows for the uniqueness of individuals and kindreds while adhering to traditional values and standards at a larger organizational level. We have been growing steadily. We have adapted, improvised, and overcome challenges to benefit our community through strengthened foundational principles and learned customs. These structural elements inform us on direction, purpose, and action that will allow us to forge bonds with our wider heathen communities. We are proud and humbled to announce our newest alliance with the Pacific North West Wolfpack. Our organization has much to learn from theirs and cherishes their willingness to share in this heavy endeavor to revive a holy relationship with our Gods and Ancestors. Together we will succeed in growing a community to secure the bright and prosperous future of our families. ⚡ ravenfolkunited.org

The Mead of Poetry Myth: After the truce between the Æsir and Vanir, the gods created Kvasir, the wisest of beings. The dwarfs Fjalar and Galar killed him and brewed his blood with honey, creating a mead that grants poetic skill. The giant Suttungr took the mead and hid it within the mountain Hnitbjörg, guarded by his daughter Gunnlöð. Óðinn sought it out, bored into the mountain, won three draughts, and escaped in the form of an eagle while Suttungr pursued him. In Hávamál of the Poetic Edda, Óðinn speaks of winning the mead through risk and hardship. In Skáldskaparmál of the Prose Edda, the full account is preserved. This myth explains the origin of poetry itself and why inspired speech was regarded as something earned, guarded, and carried with responsibility. THE ROLE OF THE GOTHAR: ESTABLISHING A STANDARD What does it actually mean to be a Gothi? In preparation for Section 12 of my book, I examined every reference to goði, gyðja, and goðar in the lore to understand how the role was defined. What I found was not a casual title, but a serious responsibility rooted in law, ritual, education, and the ability to guide and counsel a community. If we are going to reclaim our Tradition, we must also reclaim the standards that come with leadership. In this chapter, I lay out the ten standards I was able to identify that the Gothar should be responsible for. "Inclusive" heathenry* ... you mean the "people" who literally worship the enemies of our Gods, who also do, support and promote things that would have gotten you exiled or executed by our ancestors? It is not a controversial take to suggest people who do things that would have gotten you exiled or executed, by the ancients who practiced the religion, should not be considered part of the religion. Also, every ancient pre-axial religion was an ethno-religion, that is literally why we use ethnic prefixes to distinguish which religion we are talking about. Ergo, trying to redefine ancestral ethnic faiths into universalist ones is going against the wills of the ancestors, who were exercising the wills of their Gods. Ipso facto, universalist play-gans are anti-gods and therefore anti-pagan. I thank the Gods that the marvel/vikings-tv-show AC & GOW play-gan larpers are leaving the Germanic Faith spheres in droves; but unfortunately, they are still a force that needs to be dealt with from time-to-time, for now.

Evolian "Traditionalists" point to a guy who said a woman can be born in a man's body and another guy who became a Muslim, and they say: This is how we save the West. This school of thought really just falls below the threshold of serious discourse. Accordingly, as the right matures, the "Traditionalist" school has been hemorrhaging influence. For years now. This is a great step forward. @folkishworldview

Today marks a special day for Celtic Folk as Imbolc! It marks the coming of Spring and celebrates a particular well-known Celtic Goddess, Brigid! The love of this Goddess was so strong, christians kept her worship by changing her from a Goddess into a saint and keeping the same day to celebrate her. Some have speculated this particular holy day which is halfway between the winter solstice in spring equinox is associated with 'lambing season' where milk from livestock would be produced after the food shortage in winter. Many suggest the modern american holiday of groundhog day was influenced by Imbolc 👀 If you want to learn more about this ancient celtic holy day, a great article and video was done by Irishmyths, link here: https://irishmyths.com/2022/02/01/what-is-imbolc/ I want to wish the Celtic Revivalists a blessed Imbolc and may Brigid smile on you, now and always!

If you don't kneel in respect do you even trad. Kjalnesinga saga (Saga of the People of Kjalarnes, 13th–14th century): Describes Thorstein groveling (implying prostration) before Thor's idol in a temple. In chapters 3–4, Bui refuses to prostrate before the gods' idols, leading to charges of blasphemy and outlawry (skóggangur). This shows prostration as an expected act of piety in temple worship. Harðar saga ok Hólmverja (Saga of Hardar and the People of Holm, 14th century): In chapter 38, Thorstein falls down and prays before a stone altar (harrow) in his hof (temple), interpreted as prostration or falling in reverence. Færeyinga saga (Saga of the Faroese, 13th century): In chapter 23, Jarl Hakon casts himself down at the feet of an idol of Thorgerd Holgabrud and lies there for a long time, clearly prostrating in petition. Óláfs saga helga (Saga of Saint Olaf, part of Heimskringla by Snorri Sturluson, 13th century): In chapter 113, heathens leap up and bow to a gilded idol of Thor during worship. Ibn Fadlan's Risala (10th-century Arabic travel account of the Rus'): In §85, a Rus trader prostrates himself before a wooden idol while praying for success in trade. Tacitus' Germania (1st-century Roman ethnography): Describes Germanic reverence in a sacred grove: worshippers enter bound by chains (symbolizing submission), and if they fall, they must crawl out without rising. This implies prostration-like humility before divine powers. Landnámabók (Book of Settlements, 12th–13th century): Mentions bowing to the east to hail the rising sun (possibly reverent toward solar or divine forces, though not directly to gods).

No argument against paganism is more common than that "it's invalid because the tradition has been broken." On the surface, this argument works. But when you look under the hood, you find that it commits us to assumptions that dissolve all authority, and ultimately evaporate all morality whatsoever. I want to admit, for the sake of argument, a total rupture in pagan practice and test this argument—that tradition must be continuous to be valid. When we apply a little pressure to this idea, it falls apart easily. What emerges in its place? More anti-authoritarianism. ✍️ NEW SUBSTACK: https://open.substack.com/pub/imperiumpress/p/the-worst-argument-against-paganism
