In response to the devastating earthquakes that struck approximately 160 kilometres west of Caracas, Singapore Red Cross (SRC) has pledged S$100,000 in humanitarian aid and is launching a fundraising appeal to support the relief and recovery efforts for communities affected by the disaster. Funds raised through SRC’s public fundraising appeal will support the ground operations of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement. The magnitude 7.2 earthquake, followed shortly by a magnitude 7.5 tremor, has claimed nearly 1,500 lives; injured more than 3,000 people, and affected an estimated 70,000 families, with the numbers expected to rise as search and rescue efforts continue. 💌 Donate to the Venezuela Earthquake appeal via redcross.sg/donate-venezuela-earthquake
