🛢 Oil prices are rising again amid escalating tensions with Iran. Netanyahu’s statement about an imminent victory and WSJ reports that the US and Israel are preparing for possible strikes on Iran are fueling concerns over supply disruptions. XBRUSD is currently trading around $111.05.
🇦🇺 Australia’s inflation accelerated to 4.3% in September, exceeding expectations of 4.2% and the previous reading of 4.0%. Monthly CPI rose 0.8%, versus forecasts of 0.7%. The data is adding to concerns over further RBA policy tightening. AUDUSD is currently trading around 0.7030.
🇳🇿 The Reserve Bank of New Zealand cut expectations short by keeping its policy rate at 2.75%, below the market forecast of 3.0%. The central bank warned of rising risks of further inflation acceleration and said a rate hike could become necessary. NZDUSD fell to 0.5613.
🌍 Analysts have raised their forecasts for global inflation in 2027. According to a Reuters poll of more than 500 economists, inflation projections were revised higher for 31 of 50 economies. Rising energy costs are increasing the risk of more persistent inflationary pressure.
🛢 OPEC+ is expected to keep its oil production targets unchanged for November. Reuters reported this ahead of the group’s meeting scheduled for November 1.
