Famed for its Norman castle, ancient cathedral, and deep connections to Charles Dickens, the town offers a charming High Street filled with independent shops and annual festivals. From Roman walls to homes that housed kings of England, there's far too much to talk about in this small town than I have room to type. Direct, frequent services run via Southeastern and Thameslink. Fast trains from London St Pancras International take about 40 minutes.
