🔤🔤🔤🔤❌🔤🔤🔤🔤🔤🔤 🏦Casino Capitalism, 1986 (by Susan Strange) Susan Strange’s Casino Capitalism (1986) reinforces Marxist critiques of capitalism by highlighting how deregulated financial markets create instability, enrich a few, and weaken state control. Her argument that global finance limits state sovereignty aligns with the Marxist view that capitalism subordinates states to corporate interests. While Strange was not a Marxist, her work proves that capitalism, when left unchecked, undermines stability and governance, making Marxist critiques more relevant than ever. 🚨 DAY 2 : 30 DAYS ETHICS ENRICHMENT SERIES 📚 Topic: Bureaucratic Attitude vs. Democratic Attitude 📖 Meaning : A Bureaucratic Attitude is characterized by a focus on rules, procedures, and hierarchy. It emphasizes formal structures and clear lines of authority. Its features include rule-orientation, impersonal decision-making, emphasis on stability and consistency of organisation, and somewhat conservative nature. A Democratic Attitude is characterised by participation, inclusivity, and responsiveness. It seeks to involve citizens in decision-making processes and values their opinions. Its features include participatory nature, transparency, flexibility, and empathy. Pro tip: Keep an eye on diagrams like this. Because I had it in my notes, I was able to effortlessly draw this same diagram in the exam too. ✏️ Examples : 1️⃣ Democratic Attitude: Vijay S.D. as Collector of Nashik launched the "Maharashtra Ghar Ghar Ration" initiative, which involved consultations with beneficiaries to ensure the scheme met their needs. 2️⃣ Bureaucratic Attitude : A 68 year old divyang woman in Orissa had to crawl for 30 km to a bank to withdraw her pension money. This shows the bureaucratic attitude of officials, who did not consider extraordinary the circumstances of the lady. 💬 Key Quotes : "If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary." James Madison 👉 PYQs where the topic can be applied : 1️⃣ Mindless addiction to form, ignoring the substance of the matter, results in rendering of injustice. A perceptive civil servant is one who ignores such literalness and carries out true intent". Examine the above statement with suitable illustrations. (2024) 2️⃣ Two different kinds of attitudes exhibited by public servants towards their work have been identified as bureaucratic attitude and the democratic attitude. (a) Distinguish between these two terms and write their merits and demerits. (b) Is it possible to balance the two to create a better administration for the faster development of our country? (2015) Hit ❤️ if you found this post helpful. 📎 Stay Updated : @upscandbeyondd

Hey, another student of mine has made a channel, he scored 124 in prelims, 811 in mains written! With top paper scores being 140 in pub ad paper 2, essay 122, ethics 125! Tomorrow I will also have a podcast with him which will hopefully help you all given an answer as to how he did it! His telegram channel, do show love to him! https://t.me/aryankumarsingh104 https://t.me/aryankumarsingh104

Made by a dear friend, thought it’s useful so sharing!

So here it is. Get serious guys ab.

I would strongly suggest everyone to watch this, even if you don’t want it, learn how to use topper copies (provided a plan for next year students and this year students)

Role of PYQs in Mains (1/n) PYQs are extremely important in UPSC CSE preparation in both Prelims and Mains. They give an idea about how questions are framed and what are UPSC’s favorites. Solving PYQs is a great way to increase your scores. Most students(including me) have ignored PYQs initially, only to realize their significance in the later attempts. You can avoid this mistake by making PYQs a cornerstone of your Mains preparation. I feel that for Mains, PYQs are important for the following reasons : 1. Unlike Prelims, Mains syllabus is very specific. It gives a detailed mention of topics that are likely to be asked for Mains. Mains syllabus supplemented with the PYQs will help you help you prioritize the topics that you need to study for Mains. 2. Things to be covered for Mains are vast. The content is enormous. Students don’t realize this until they write Mains. Before clearing Prelims, our approach is largely Prelims-oriented. As we start preparation for Mains, we tend to get lost in the ocean of content. That is when PYQs come to our rescue as they tell us how far we need to go. 3. The Rate of Repetition is very high in Mains. Many questions that have been asked previously have been repeated verbatim in subsequent years. If you have prepared those questions well, it gives you an extra advantage. 4. Even the Current Affairs questions that are sometimes asked in the exam could be solved if you have followed the syllabus well and covered PYQs related to it. 5. For Answer Writing Practice, there’s nothing better than PYQs. The mock tests provided by various coachings are at times an overkill and even trivial. The questions set by coachings are often from their own textbooks, classroom material, etc. Moreover, they tend to focus too much on current affairs. PYQs here come to our rescue as they help us limit ourselves to the topics that are actually relevant. 6. Notemaking for Mains is a somewhat complicated task if you don’t know where to stop. Initially, you may want to put everything you read in your notes. This leads to very bulky and useless notes that you are never going to refer to in the future. 7. PYQs help in Predicting Topics that might be asked in the upcoming exam. Based on previous trends, you can give a special priority to the topics that you think are relevant. For example, I felt that questions on Chola architecture in GS1, on CAG and on Elections in GS2, were important for 2024 based on some trends, and UPSC did ask these questions in Mains 2024. 8. For Optional, nothing else is as important as PYQs are. 70-80% of the Optional Paper of most subjects is often repeated or is similar to what has been asked previously. If you have done PYQs well, it will reward you with a decent score to help you secure a rank. My Suggestion : Keep a printout of Mains syllabus and PYQs on your desk. Before studying any topic, just go through the related PYQs and assess whether the way you are preparing would help you in answering those questions. 👉 If you are struggling with either Prelims or Mains, you can DM me @prashantgupta23 👉 Follow for more content : @upscandbeyondd

This is How a month looks in CA Made easy Course. Read it once, revise it twice, test it once. Most aspirants lose current affairs in the gap between reading and revising. This course closes that gap in three steps. "This sample takes three October days and shows each of them in all three formats, so you can judge the whole cycle before you decide." 1) Daily 2-Pager EVERY DAY · ABOUT 10 MINUTES. Two hand-written pages with 4 current topics and 2 static- linked topics. The important lines come pre-highlighted and PYQ links are marked in green. Monthly Compilation. 2) EVERY MONTH · ABOUT 25 PAGES typed. The month’s 2-Pagers typed and arranged day-wise, so your revi‐ sion before Prelims runs on clean, searchable notes. 3) Practice MCQs 15+ EVERY WEEK. Statement-based questions in UPSC’s own pattern, each with a statement-wise solution and extra Prelims pointers. Click here to know about the Course.

How is the Josh guys?? Wanted to say that, in continuation with help for Mains 2024, I am extremely delighted to tell you that Aditya sir (Founder of Karmayogi IAS, 3 interviews) has agreed to do a read along in 1v1 format of ethics copies of 5 mains giving students. He has helped create many rankers through his coaching and taught as ethics faculty in premium coaching institutes. He is doing this for us free of cost, let us hope with his help we are able to create rankers from this very group. In addition, this is his channel link: https://t.me/karmayogi_ias Do follow it and give him some love. So that we can have more such future collaborations for more students. 5 students selected under this would be from the ones who had already contacted me over last month. While it is evident, that reaching out to every mains child (200+) isn't possible, but I hope you appreciate the sheer efforts, through this. Further hopefully the content and individual suggestions are being helpful to you. Happy studying.
