Week 6 prayer pointers 🙏🙏
Romans 3:27-4:25 📖
- Give thanks to God, that justification is indeed by faith for all! Give thanks that we share in God's promise to Abraham, when we share his faith.
- Ask God that, however bleak it may seem, we press on in faith in our life-giving Jesus!
Regen 🤝
- Thank God for next week's break from school, woohoo! For this time for us to slow down, rest, and catch up on studies 😴. Pray that each of us would steward this time wisely.
- Pray for a fruitful and restful ReCharge 🪫⚡🔋🤩 social next Wed! Pray for an enjoyable time of fellowship and games, and over meals 👾😋. Pray that we would be growing in love ❤️ for one another, and that we be listening to Jesus 👂 together, not being anxious about many things.
- Pray for the Regen x 学生 Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration 🥮💫 🌝 next Sat. Think about a friend who you might be able to invite, pray for them, and reach out 💌! Pray that many international students and locals would come and enjoy celebrating with us. Pray that the short talk would clearly share the gospel, and for opportunities for deeper chats with our new friends. Ask God to move their hearts when they hear about Jesus, that they would be open to considering Him and come to place their hope in Him!
Nepal 🇳🇵
Population: 31 million, Christians: 1.6 million (5.4%)

- Thank God for growing His church in Nepal, with numbers of local churches increasing since 2008! Pray that, despite intense persecution by Hindu extremists, Christians and churches will remain steadfast in God’s Word, holding firmly to the hope they have in Christ.
- Pray for those suffering in the wake of the recent flash flood, which has killed many and destroyed much, that God would comfort them in their grief and provide for their needs. Pray for non-Christians to see their need for Jesus, and turn to Him, finding in Him true hope amidst the brokenness.

In our evangelistic efforts, hearts cannot be changed unless God himself graciously and sovereignly softens them. So, we want to grow in prayerfulness and reliance on God as we proclaim the good news to our friends. Keep a look out for weekly prayer lunches in the regen jios channel as we gather and pray for his work on campus and beyond

| 5 | Prayer pointers week 5 🙏🙏
Romans 3:21-26
- Praise God that anyone of us can receive God's 'righteous' verdict by faith. 🙌
- Ask God to stir up our joy in the gospel, our humility and our awe of his righteousness.
Regen
- Thank God for our Y2s, in how they have been serving and loving people in Regen, encouraging each other in Christ.
- Pray for those serving in Regen this year - as Bible Study Leaders, in Exco, or in Centrals - that God will give them wisdom in their service, and that they will serve with humility and joy, speaking the truth in love and modeling Christlikeness.
- Pray for Midterm exams coming up, that as we prep for them we will continue to be disciplined to work hard for the Lord. Pray for guidance in our studies, that we will not make studying and grades an idol, but find joy in studying and more importantly, find joy in God.
- Pray for those who are facing stress in their studies, that they will find comfort in God, who is the God of all comfort.
SUSS CU 🎓
- Thank God for the Y1s who joined CU and have been keen and regular! Pray that they will increasingly continue prioritising Jesus during uni, that they will better fit into CU community (and for seniors to keep being friendly, warm, and intentional), and that they would be growing 🌱 in maturity and gospel-boldness as they study God’s Word together
- CU is preaching through John’s Gospel this AY and are going through the first parts of Genesis in bible studies and camp this sem. Please pray that John would help grow students’ faith in Jesus and love for Him, and that Genesis would widen students’ views of God’s character and glory, help them understand the world around us, and show us why we really need Jesus.
India 🇮🇳
Is now the nation with the most people at 1.48 billion, where Hinduism is the majority religion (80%), and just 2% are Christians. More states are implementing anti-conversion laws, where any Christian who shares their faith can be accused of a crime, intimidated and arrested, and even met with violence. Converts from Hinduism to Christianity face the harshest persecution. They can be pressured to reconvert to Hinduism by family, community and extremists through campaigns like Ghar Wapsi (‘homecoming’). Converts frequently also face physical assault and are sometimes even killed. - Pray for new believers that although they may be rejected by their earthly families and societies, they may know that they are part of God's true family.
- Pray for courage, protection and empowerment as they seek to do God's will in the face of persecution, meeting regularly in house churches, devoting themselves to studying His word and prayer and sharing of the faith, so that unbelievers might come to faith in Jesus and souls might be saved. | 516 |

Romans 2:1-3:20
- Ask God to help us see that even the best of us don't meet his standards of righteousness, and all of us desperately need the gospel.
Sharing the Gospel!
- We shared about some of our non-Christian loved ones with each other and prayed for them last week at Bible Study. Keep praying for our non-Christian friends and family, that the Holy Spirit would soften their hearts and that they will put their trust in Jesus. Pray that we will be making good use of opportunities to be telling them about Jesus. ❤️
- Pray for friends, who Regen gospel partners share about, from the evange jios (walkups) chat! 🤝🙏
- Pray for international friends who came for the ISM Dinners 🌍😋 over the past 2 weeks - the Regen friends who went had some good conversations with them about Christ. Pray that the Holy Spirit would soften their hearts and give them a hunger to know Him. Pray for Regen friends to be intentional in following up!
- Pray for people, especially NUS students, from the Nepal/Tibet regions. That as they hear of the news about the flooding, that God would meet them in their grief with His compassion, and draw them to Himself.
NIECU 👩🏫🧑🏫👨🏫
- Give thanks for a bunch of students who are classmates and have kept going at evanglism with their classmates as gospel partners. Pray that they will not grow weary despite rejection and continue rejoicing in the gospel!
- Give thanks for the Y1 students who came along to NIECU's welcome evening. Pray that they will prioritise walking with and serving Jesus as they make decisions about how they spend their time and energy.
- Pray for Just Looking (7 evangelistic studies in John's gospel) 👀 that those invited will come, and the students leading the studies will grow in confidence in opening the gospel with their friends, knowing that these are written that we may believe that Jesus is the Christ and have life in his name.
- Pray that after the Christian Teacher's Conference last Saturday 29 Aug, that many teachers currently teaching will be encouraged to keep going in school to love Jesus, live for Jesus, and to labour in his harvest field. 🏫🌾
China 🇨🇳
- Officially registered churches are placed under heavy surveillance to make sure nothing they promote falls outside CCP guidelines. In regions where Islam or Tibetan Buddhism are majority faiths, Christian converts can face additional scrutiny and pressure – and sometimes violence – from their families and communities (read more: https://www.opendoors.org/en-US/persecution/countries/china/)
- Pray that Christians in China will persevere in speaking the truth of the gospel to other Christians and unbelievers even amidst opposition and persecution, seeing how desperately we all need the gospel | 677 |

ISM Dinners with ISM Tour friends 🌍
1) Thank God for dinner at David's place last Saturday! This is one of 2 ISM dinners, following up with the international students after the ISM GBTB tour (week 1 Monday). Thank God for intentional brothers and sisters who took time out to help, where 4 helpers & 5 international friends (including 1 Christian) turned up. Thankful for the homecooked food, games and conversations. 😋 Thank God that through the testimonies that were shared, that they were able to listen about how good our God is to undeserving sinners like us. Pray for the 4 non-Christian friends to be open to hearing the gospel. Pray for us to continue loving and welcoming them to Jesus! 🤝
2) Pray for dinner at Rebecca's place this Saturday, on the 29th! Pray that the helpers would prepare their hearts in prayer, that they utterly trust that it is God who opens blind eyes! Pray that the helpers would love the lost, and that they love for our God to be glorified. Thankful for the 2 international students who have polled their interest, pray for fruitful conversations and that more may be open and free to join us!
Ask God for opportunities to keep our convos going in future meet-ups and that they'll be keen to explore Jesus during their time here in SG!
Romans Bible Studies
- As we start our bible studies on Romans in our BS groups, pray for humble and receptive hearts to apply God's word into our lives. Pray for the desire and faithfulness to repent and turn to Jesus, as we know He will forgive our sins.
- Thank God for sustaining everyone throughout the start of this semester! Pray for guidance and wisdom, for everyone to make the right and godly choices, and for the desire to give God glory in every aspect of our lives.
- Pray for our Bible study groups to be growing in genuine love and care for one another as we learn and apply God's word. ❤️ Pray that we will be intentional in getting to know one another more deeply, open in sharing honestly about our lives and struggles! | 15 | Prayer pointers week 2🙏🙏
1. Romans 1:18-32 📖
- Ask God to convict our hearts of our sin, to honour him rightly as God, repenting of all ungodliness and unrighteousness in our lives.
- Ask God to help us see sin and wrath as the world's greatest problem, that the gospel is the greatest need of the world!
- Ask God for perseverance in holding out the truth about God to a world 🌍 that doesn’t see fit to acknowledge him.
2. Bible Study Leaders + Trainees
- Give thanks for our crop 🌾of bible study leaders and trainees, who show us Jesus in their lives and speech 😌
- Pray that they keep growing faith and joy in the Lord. Pray that our time together in Romans will strengthen them and their obedience in our faith.
- Ask God to help them serve others sacrificially and sustainably, even as the rigor of the semester 😬 starts to ramp up.
- Pray that they keep leaning on Jesus in prayer, and not on the idols the world tries to seduce them with.
3. SUTD Christian Fellowship 🤝
- Thank God for a good time at SSBC looking at how there is none better than Jesus from Hebrews. Pray that they all recognize how amazing Jesus is, and so treasure him and proclaim him to our friends and family!
- SUTD is having exams 📚this week. Pray for the students to study hard and rest hard, but above all, to remember their identity in Christ.
- CF has been reading "Before You Share Your Faith" over the past few weeks. Pray that students will evaluate their own attitudes towards evangelism, identify specific fears they have, and see how the gospel speaks to that. Pray CF will grow in love for unbelievers and in fervour for evangelism.
- Pray for those on internship to persevere in living for Christ and sharing the gospel. Pray for the rest who will be on break soon, that they will have a restful break before the term starts again mid September.
- There will be new students coming in to SUTD in September! Pray that God would be gracious to provide many students who want to join CF to grow in knowledge and love for Jesus, and desire for others to know and love Jesus ❤️
- Pray for Shawn (staff worker) & Cheryl (wife), Dav (husband) & Steph (female staff worker). Pray for good working relationship between Shawn and Steph, considering both just joined the staff team this year. Pray for Shawn & Cheryl to have patience and thoughtfulness towards the kids and each other during a period when they adjust to new routines, showing Christ's love to them, and also to neighbours. Pray for Dav & Steph during a very busy period. Pray that they would strive for and model godliness towards each other and the kids as much at home as they work hard to proclaim the gospel outside of home. | 579 |

To this end, with our friends in the Singapore Students Bible Conference, we have crafted a safeguarding policy. 1. Romans 1:1-17 📖
- Pray that God will humble our hearts ❤️ and help us listen to his word, so that we truly see the gospel as our greatest need!
- Ask God to strengthen us by the gospel as we open up the book of Romans together this coming AY, that we may be growing in living out these truths!
2. Regen and NUS 🎓
- Praise God that the harvest in NUS is indeed plentiful!
- Pray that in light of ReOrient and what we've seen about advancing the gospel, that we as fellow gospel partners would boldly proclaim it, striving side by side 🤝 and encouraging each other to press on amidst our fears or opposition
3. Regen ISM x Xuesheng Gardens by the Bay Tour 🌿🌿
- Give thanks for new international 🌍friends we made, we had over 10 guests who joined us!
- Give thanks that one of us got to share how the gospel has saved us to one of our new friends.
- Pray that we will keep welcoming international students, just as Christ welcomed us.
- Pray that, as we continue to get to know our new friends, that we may have opportunities to give reasons for the hope that we have.
- Pray that we will be intentional in following up with these new friends, and that we be bold to share with them why Jesus matters so much!
- Pray that God will use these gospel words to give them new life and trust in Jesus.
4. SMUCF:
- Pray for God to continue to send people into SMUCF through their CCA fair and their social media channels!
- Pray for Paul to teach from Genesis 12 clearly and that the students would see that they are a ministry that teaches the word that is worth committing to!
- Pray for their upcoming FOC (this week Fri-Sat), that attending students will be keen to listen to God's word, and pray for their students to be a big welcome to everyone, especially those who might be newcomers!
5. Singapore 🇸🇬
Thank God for keeping Christians in Singapore safe and free from persecution.
- Pray that our government will continue to lead Singapore well and to maintain policies that allow us to live for Jesus and proclaim the gospel freely.
- Pray that we will indeed live for Jesus and proclaim the gospel freely and boldly ❤️🔥, not being ashamed of it, but making good use of the opportunities in Singapore! | 582 |
