Week 10 & 11 walkups🚶♂️& prayer 🙏!
Hi friends, week 10 & 11 is coming soon! And we would love to partner all of you the next 2 weeks as we reach out in walkups to the lost and pray for boldness and gospel fruits to be sown.
Here's the plan
🗓️️️️️️Dates: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays for both weeks
🕥️️️️️️Time: 10am to 12pm
🚶Details: For each walkups session, we will start by praying for our time, then we will walkups, and will end with a time of sharing and prayer!
Don't worry if you are new! We will be holding walkups training on tues & fri on week 10 and tues & wed on week 11 during the walkups session itself. So do join us and be assure you'll be partnered with someone who'll be more experienced.
Please prayerfully consider joining us as we follow Jesus' commission to make disciples of all nations (Matt 28:16-20) and share in Paul's joy in advancing the gospel (Phi 1:12-26)!😊️️️️️️ Please poll in the Regen jios chat so that we know you are coming!
| 2 | Hi everyone! 2027 pledging for Regen is now open, from today (17 Oct) till 31 Dec.
If you were at the Friends of Regen event this morning, or have read the new newsletter, you’ll have heard that the pledging season officially starts today.
“He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:32
Our God is a gracious giver, and gracious giving is a mark of his people. If you’re in a position to give to Regen next year, would you prayerfully consider pledging?
Our fundraising target is $201,000 for 2027. If we had 100 givers, that’s about $167.50 a month each.
Most of it goes to our staff workers, who teach the word and equip students for ministry. Aaron’s home church will almost fully sponsor his remaining Bible college studies, which lets us hire a part-time women’s worker from mid-2027. We’re also adding $5,000 to Camp to keep it affordable despite higher venue costs.
Pledging now helps us know what income to expect, so we can plan our ministry and hiring responsibly.
There are 2 ways to give:

- If you are repledging, we thank you for continuing to partner with us! Please finish your current commitment first, and then start your new cycle from Jan 2027 to Dec 2027.

| 5 | Week 9 prayer pointers 🙏️️🙏️️
Romans 6:1-14 📖️️
- Ask God to help us live in light of our new identity in union with Christ: we are dead to sin, and alive to God!
- Pray that we don't let sin reign in our bodies and that we use our bodies as instruments for righteousness.
Sharing the gospel with our non-Christian friends 🤝️️🥰️️✝️
Pray for our non-Christian friends whom we may have met on campus, in our classes. Pray that they would see their need for the gospel, and how they can be saved only through Jesus. Pray that we would be bold to be speaking with these friends about the gospel.
Think about whom of these friends you might be able to invite along for our upcoming evangelistic TBQ “If God is loving and all-powerful, why is there so much suffering in the world?” on Fri week 11 (Oct 31), and pray for them. Pray for non-Christians on campus, many of whom may not have had the chance to hear about Jesus. Pray for Regen friends going for upcoming walkups in weeks 9-10 as we ramp up to TBQ, that we will boldly share about Jesus to new friends on campus, not being afraid of rejections but faithfully holding out the gospel. Pray that their hearts would be receptive to hear about Jesus, and that they would be open to come to TBQ to hear more about Jesus. Prayerfully consider if you would be able to join in for walkups. ❤️🔥
Regen staff team
Thank God for providing a staff team who can spend full-time serving the Regen community of brothers and sisters in Christ at NUS. Pray that their hearts will be devoted to serving our Lord and His people out of love rather than having mixed motivations.
Sam: Pray that he keeps leaning on Jesus' power and wisdom, as he leads the ministry of the word at Regen. Pray that he would keep delighting in the salvation God has won for him on the cross, as he continues teaching Romans at Regen. Pray that he keeps growing his love for students, as the Spirit pours God's love into his heart.
Charis: Pray that Jesus' supremacy and sufficiency will comfort her, and his imminent return will embolden her to be labouring for the kingdom.
Jotham: pray that God will grow his knowledge and joy in his union with Christ, freeing him from sin, that he will flee from sin, choosing to use his body parts for God and to love others.
Leon: pray that God will grow his view of Jesus and the gospel. That Christ will increase in his life and ministry while he decreases. That he will be growing in delighting in God’s word, and will keep growing in trusting in Jesus’ righteousness alone and not his own.
Nick: Pray that he would be working heartily for Jesus, not being lazy or aiming to please people. Pray that he would be growing in joy and love for Jesus and brothers and sisters in Christ. Pray that he would be killing sin because he is under the rule of grace. | 309 |

Romans 5:12-21 📖
- Praise God for Christ's victory over sin and death!
- Pray that Christ's super-abundant victory will assure us of our certain hope of eternal life, even when we sin or suffer.
Regen Y4️⃣s
- Thank God for the Y4s + those pursuing further studies among us, for how they are big brothers and sisters in Christ in role modelling loving and serving others in Regen! 🥰🤝
- Pray that they would keep on loving and serving God and His people faithfully and humbly as they study in their final year of university. 🎓
- Thank God for sustaining them throughout their university life! Pray for those who are looking ahead for work, for wisdom in making life plans after graduation, that they may depend upon and trust in God who provides. Pray that they would not be worried, and that they would continue to work responsibly for the Lord.
North Korea: Extreme Persecution
(#1 on open door’s world watch list for persecution)
For not worshipping the Kim dynasty, Christians can be permanently imprisoned in labour camps or immediately executed.
The 2020 “anti-reactionary thought law” criminalised just being a Christian, and owning a Bible, worsening this ^
Despite this, there are 400,000 Christians (1.5%) in NK, many of whom memorise scripture. They meet in secret at highest risk.

- Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ in NK. Pray for those imprisoned in labour camps, and those who gather in secret, that they will live for, obey, and proclaim the good king Jesus, who gave His life for many.
- Pray that even as they suffer famine and impoverishment, that God would be providing for their physical and spiritual needs. Pray that they would be given opportunities to wisely share the gospel.
- Pray that they may cling on to the hope that they have in Christ, trusting in God even as they may be greatly suffering in persecution, even as many of them might even be close to death, even as many might even lose their lives. Pray that they will be fully confident in the eternal life that they will gain even as they lose all things.
- Pray for the Kim family, and those in power who are enemies of the gospel and are persecuting Christians. Ask God to change their hearts, that they may repent of their wickedness and come to believe in Jesus.
- Pray for us in Singapore, that we would not take our freedom to follow Jesus for granted, but be boldly and faithfully living for Christ. Pray that whether we face comfort or suffering, that we would gladly give up our lives for the sake of Jesus and the gospel. | 459 |

Recharging on Luke 10:38-42… 📖
- Pray that we won't be like Martha, distracted, anxious and troubled about many things.
- Ask God that we would be like Mary, choosing the good portion of sitting at Jesus' feet and listening to his words.
Regen
- Pray that God will help us praise him for his love for us shown in Jesus, and to grow in having confident hope in the gospel even during this hectic period of midterms. Thank God for keeping us in Christ! Pray that God will grant us calmness even as we might wrestle with many stresses and worries in our studies.
- Thank God for the Y3 batch, for how they are so encouraging to us in Regen, in faithfully living out the gospel. 🥰
- Pray for Y3s who are away on exchange ✈️🌎, that they would continue to be living under Jesus as their king 👑! Pray that that they would be plugged into faithful churches, that they would be deepening christian friendships that can mutually encourage each other to be persevering in living lives for Jesus
- Pray for Y3s who are thinking about exchange/intern/life changes next sem, that they will be wise in thinking about how they might serve Jesus even in these big life choices. Pray that they will be choosing Jesus even amidst the many things which the world seems to offer. 👷♀️👨💻
Pray for our friends at NTU Christian Union! 🤝🎓:
- Thank God for the Y1s who have joined CU and been keen and regular! Pray that they would continue integrating into CU, that they would really invest in growing in their faith in Jesus and their godliness and maturity in Uni as CU digs into God’s word together. Pray also that CU as a whole would increasingly speak the truth in love to each other and support one another in each other’s struggles!
- CU is preaching through John’s Gospel this AY and are going through Genesis 1-11 (+ God’s covenant with Abraham) in bible studies and camp this sem. John and Genesis have been really eye-opening, sobering, and super encouraging in growing their view of God the Father and Jesus the Son! Please pray that John would continue helping grow students’ faith in Jesus and love for Him, and that Genesis would continue to widen students’ views of God’s character and glory, help them understand the world around us, and show us why we really need Jesus.
- CU had an evangelistic event (pizza nite 🍕🥳) in week 4. Wah the pizzas were demolished quick! Wai (campus pastor) preached on “Is heaven even real? How can I be sure if I’m going there?”. Thank God for many newcomers and non-Christians who considered what they heard fro the talk, and for the chats they had with their CU friends! Thank God that some of them are keen to explore more! Pray that God willing, the seeds planted will bear fruit, and for CU to press on in following up with those who are keen. | 369 |

Romans 5:1-11 📖
- Praise God for his love for us, that we are reconciled to him through Christ's death for us on the cross!
- Pray that we grow in our assurance of hope in the gospel, even as we suffer in a world ruined by sin and death.
Regen ❤️🔥
- Thank God for healthy friendships that we have in Regen that encourage and spur each other to live for Christ.
- Pray for more of such friendships, and for more intentionality in our existing friendships, to keep each other from worldliness and sin.
- Pray that we would steward these friendships well for the sake of the gospel, partnering together to proclaim Christ, holding out the gospel to those who do not yet know Jesus.
SITCF 🎓🤝
- Praise God for the many keen newcomers he has brought into SITCF! Pray that the staff and CFers will faithfully hold out God’s word to them, that they be welcoming, and for Christian friendships to deepen.
- SITCF is finishing the book of Ruth tomorrow. After which they are having an OT overview workshop, and then embarking on the book of Joel until the trimester's end. Pray that CFers may grow in reading the OT.
- SITCF has 5 BS groups with 2 student leaders! They would need to raise more leaders to lead BS. Pray for more students to be stepping up to lead BS, and that they will be trained and equipped to read God’s word faithfully.
- Pray for evangelistic efforts by the CFers, who have been organising badminton hang outs with each other and inviting non-Christian classmates. 3 CFers are also reading Mark with 3 non-Christian classmates. Pray for evangelistic fruit. | 553 |

Romans 3:27-4:25 📖
- Give thanks to God, that justification is indeed by faith for all! Give thanks that we share in God's promise to Abraham, when we share his faith.
- Ask God that, however bleak it may seem, we press on in faith in our life-giving Jesus!
Regen 🤝
- Thank God for next week's break from school, woohoo! For this time for us to slow down, rest, and catch up on studies 😴. Pray that each of us would steward this time wisely.
- Pray for a fruitful and restful ReCharge 🪫⚡🔋🤩 social next Wed! Pray for an enjoyable time of fellowship and games, and over meals 👾😋. Pray that we would be growing in love ❤️ for one another, and that we be listening to Jesus 👂 together, not being anxious about many things.
- Pray for the Regen x 学生 Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration 🥮💫 🌝 next Sat. Think about a friend who you might be able to invite, pray for them, and reach out 💌! Pray that many international students and locals would come and enjoy celebrating with us. Pray that the short talk would clearly share the gospel, and for opportunities for deeper chats with our new friends. Ask God to move their hearts when they hear about Jesus, that they would be open to considering Him and come to place their hope in Him!

Population: 31 million, Christians: 1.6 million (5.4%)

- Thank God for growing His church in Nepal, with numbers of local churches increasing since 2008! Pray that, despite intense persecution by Hindu extremists, Christians and churches will remain steadfast in God’s Word, holding firmly to the hope they have in Christ.
- Pray for those suffering in the wake of the recent flash flood, which has killed many and destroyed much, that God would comfort them in their grief and provide for their needs. Pray for non-Christians to see their need for Jesus, and turn to Him, finding in Him true hope amidst the brokenness. | 638 |
