‘O Allah, mend what is between us, unite our hearts, and guide us to the paths of peace.’

Then she said:
"SubhanAllah! I began to feel peace in my home with my children, my husband, my family, and everyone around me."
How amazing that such a powerful du'a exists, yet most people rarely remember to say it. | 171 |
| 5 | Imam Ibn Taymeeyah رحمه الله said:
“Sufyaan Bin 'Uayaynah was asked about feeling sadness for an unknown reason.
He said: 'It is a sin which you desired to do secretly but you did not perform it, so you were rewarded with sadness for it.'
Therefore, sins have a penalty, secret sins are sanctioned secretly and public sins are sanctioned publicly.”

| 7 |  The love of fame breaks backs!
Bishr ibn al-Harith, may Allah have mercy on him, said:
I do not know of a man who loved to be known except that his religion was lost and he was disgraced! A man who loves to be known by people will not find the sweetness of the Hereafter.

| 8 | Shaykh-ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, [may Allāh have mercy upon him], said:
“Whoever thinks that he can simply take from :
- the Book (the Qur'ān) and
- the Sunnah
Without:
- following the Sahābah (the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, may Allāh be pleased with them), and pursues a path other than theirs,
Is from the people of innovation.”

لاَ تَقْبَلَنَّ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ مَوَدَّةً
فَقُلُوبُهُنَّ سَرِيعَةُ الْمَيَلاَنِ

| 10 | Ibn ul-Qayyim (رحمه اللّه) said:
“The heart’s safety and soundness cannot be perfected, absolutely, until it is secure from five things:
- From shirk which nullifies taw’heed
- From bid’ā (innovation) which opposes the Sunnah
- From a desire/lust that opposes the command (of Allaah)
- From heedlessness that contradicts remembrance (of Him)
- From a desire that nullifies purity and sincerity (in intent and purpose)
These five are barriers to Allaah and beneath each of them are many other categories that contain unique issues which cannot be enumerated.”

| 11 | A very beautiful and amazing description of Knowledge by Shaykh Salih Al Usaymi حفظه الله, he says:
“It is the honour of everything that exists, and the light of every peak and valley. It is the adornment of the greats, and the pleasure of those who behold it. Whoever is inclined toward it is blessed, and whoever carries it around with them has gained a great prize, and whoever acts according to it will be safe.
If it were a product that was sold, huge amounts of money would be spent on it, and if it were high up in the sky, the people of nobility would have risen up to it.
Out of every marketplace, it is the most profitable, and out of every source of pride, it is the most honourable. Achievements in it are the most noble of achievements, & its resources are the most praiseworthy of resources. The eternally happy is the one who spurs himself to seek it, and encourages the journeying of his soul towards it;
while the wretched is the one who turns away from it or he makes others do so, and distances himself from it, or makes others do so. His nose is blocked from the fragrance of knowledge, and his neck is sealed with the words 'This is a slave who is bereft'.
Knowledge enters the heart of every successful one; without any doorman or seeking permission;
And the bereft repels it due to his failure; O Allāh! Do not make us wretched by prohibiting us from it!”

He frowned and said: ‘If he fasts, prays, and isolates himself from the people, isn’t it only for himself?’ I said: ‘Yes.’
He said: ‘Then if he speaks [against deviants], it is for himself and for others; speaking is better.’”
