Today in our “Speedpaints” column - Padma Patil and another visit to the Abandoned Wing.
Many of you have known Parvati for a long time and quite well, but her twin sister has remained on the sidelines of our story until now. That’s about to change: you’ll meet Padma for the first time in version 0.13A.
As you can see from today’s speedpaint, Padma also shows a particular interest in the Abandoned Wing. This time, she decided to linger a bit near Filch’s cubbyhole and seems to have found some unexpected company—Mrs. Norris.
What exactly brought Padma to this part of Hogwarts? Is it related to the secret of the Abandoned Wing that her sister keeps? The answers will start to emerge very soon. 😉

| 12 |  Programmers will soon finish polishing the Daphne storyline in 0.12.2B, after which it will be made available to testers. The team will then continue working on Hermione’s and Luna’s storylines.
Artists will be creating new locations and full-screen scenes - there will be significantly more of both in upcoming patches. Hogwarts will continue to expand, and the number of new scenes is growing with virtually every update.
Once the synopsis is approved, the writers will finally begin writing quests for 0.14A. Since different parts of the team are working on different versions simultaneously, development is moving forward in several directions at once.
We’re very eager to finish 0.12.2B and finally move forward with 0.13A, where the story shifts more actively towards the relationship with your waifu. So very soon, you can look forward to new locations, characters, events, and, of course, plenty of new scenes. | 1 457 |
| 13 |  So, let’s look at what’s the current status for each development direction in short and what are the next steps.
The writers have finished drafting the synopsis for version 0.14A and have shared it with the entire team for discussion. We are currently finalizing the last few revisions, after which the writers will be able to move directly to writing the in-game quests.
While developing 0.14A, we actively took into account the results of our previous polls. The story now includes new locations, characters, and other elements that we discussed with you. But most importantly, this version will feature several new types of quests in which Marcus will solve Hogwarts’ problems not alone, but together with the girls.
Initially, we planned to use this format in just one quest with Ginny to see how it would work. However, the idea turned out to be so interesting that we decided not to limit ourselves to a single event and to include several cooperative adventures in 0.14A. | 1 328 |
| 14 |  Our artists are also working in several directions at once. They’re simultaneously creating new locations, new scenes, mini-games, and full-screen character images, which will begin appearing in the game starting with version 0.13A. At the same time, the team continues to gradually update older character art that has fallen noticeably behind the current quality standards.
We want the game’s visual style to remain cohesive: new scenes should look great, but familiar characters and events shouldn’t stand out from the project’s overall standard. That’s why even older content is gradually getting the update it deserves. | 1 512 |
| 15 |  Meanwhile, version 0.13A is gradually evolving from a collection of individual, finished scenes into a full-fledged game chapter. We’ve accumulated enough integrated content to conduct our first closed team test: we played through the sections that have already been added, gathered feedback, and identified areas that still need refinement.
We’ll continue testing as we integrate new content. As new scenes keep getting added to the game, we’ll review and improve the parts that are already complete without waiting for the entire project to be finished. One of the biggest events in version 0.13A is now almost fully integrated, featuring a new full-screen scene with your waifu. | 16 |  We’ve also improved the auto-save feature over the past month. For example, when casting a spell, the save process could take a few seconds, and the timer would already start ticking during that time. As a result, you could lose precious time before you even had a chance to start using the spell. This was especially frustrating in the event where you leave the office at night.
Now, the save will occur before the mini-game starts, rather than during it. In addition, we’ve optimized the auto-save system itself, so the associated delays and slight stutters are now much less noticeable. | 1 166 |
| 17 |  Let's start with version 0.12.2B and its polish.
We've finished tweaking the emotions and scenes in one of the four storylines - Susan's. Daphne’s storyline is being worked on currently: here, we had to do some additional work on the art for certain scenes, especially the one in the bedroom with Daphne. We added additional details and clothing options, and expanded the range of emotions for that scene. This will make the transitions between poses more natural and give Daphne more visual variety during scenes.
Once Daphne’s storyline is complete, only Hermione and Luna will remain. The final polishing takes quite a bit of time, but it’s at this stage that the characters cease to be mere pretty pictures: emotions, movements, and small visual details bring them to life and make them enjoyable. | 1 414 |
