A force belonging to the 679th (Yiftach) Brigade entered a building in Bint Jbeil, where they encountered a gunman who opened fire on them. One soldier was seriously injured, while two other soldiers sustained minor injuries. Hasnaa Diab, the three men's grandmother, said in an interview with Al-Jazeera: "They left early in the morning to work in agriculture because they have wives and children waiting for their return. They did not go to attack anyone or carry out any security activity — only to earn a living. They are oppressed farmers. Today we are living in total confusion. These young men are the support and primary breadwinners for our households. More than 30 people — women, children and elderly family members — depend directly on them for their daily sustenance, and now we are all left without support.”
