She was believed to possess the extraordinary ability to channel messages from higher beings, including extraterrestrials, using her hair as an antenna. Maria was said to have received advanced technological knowledge through these otherworldly communications, which fascinated many, including scientists like Nikola Tesla. Her channeled messages contained blueprints for anti-gravity devices and free energy machines, igniting the imaginations of those who sought the secrets of the universe.
One of the most intriguing aspects of Maria Orsic’s life is her connection to Nikola Tesla. Although historical records don’t explicitly confirm their collaboration, both were captivated by the idea of tapping into the hidden forces of the cosmos. Tesla’s work with wireless energy transmission and his belief in communicating with other worlds through vibration and frequency seemed to parallel Maria’s own practices. Legend has it that she received messages from Aldebaran, a distant star system, and some theorists speculate that Tesla may have been influenced by her insights or even directly collaborated with her in secret.

Some believe that her channeled messages caught the attention of top Nazi officials, including Heinrich Himmler and Hitler himself. These flying discs, allegedly powered by Vril energy, were seen as part of a secret Nazi effort to develop breakthrough technologies for warfare and exploration.

| 17 |  THE DRUG OF THE MODERN WORLD
We live in an age where the human ego has become a product, vanity has become a virtue, and artificial personalities have become idols.
Welcome to the era of influencers, where carefully curated images are mistaken for reality, attention is mistaken for value, and popularity is mistaken for wisdom.
Social media has created a culture of worshipping the self: “Look at me. Admire me. Validate me. Want to be me.” And millions of people have become both the performers and the audience in a never-ending theater of manufactured perfection.
But behind the filters, staged smiles, luxury displays, and perfectly rehearsed personalities, how much of what we see is real? And more importantly, how much of what we see is shaping who we believe we should become?
Social media is the drug, and almost everyone is taking it, regardless of age.
The mechanism is disturbingly simple. A notification, a like, a comment, a new follower. A tiny hit of validation. Then the feeling fades, and the mind wants another one. Scroll. Compare. Desire. Repeat.
Meanwhile, memes replace books. Short clips replace deep conversations. Quick dopamine replaces the patient pursuit of knowledge. We are consuming more information than ever, yet often giving ourselves less time to understand anything deeply.
Our attention spans are shrinking. Critical thinking is being crowded out by instant reactions. Emotional responses are increasingly shaped by algorithms designed to keep us engaged. Outrage, envy, fear, desire, and insecurity become tools for capturing our attention.
And while we scroll, someone else profits from the minutes, hours, and years of our lives.
The most dangerous part is that we begin to believe this is normal.
We compare our ordinary lives with someone else’s edited highlights. We judge our bodies against artificial standards. We measure our worth through numbers on a screen. We begin to imitate people we have never met, idolize personalities we barely know, and pursue lifestyles that may not even bring us happiness.
The tragedy is not that people want to be seen. The tragedy is that people are slowly forgetting how to see themselves without an audience.
Real intelligence requires concentration. Real wisdom requires reflection. Real growth requires silence, patience, and the courage to question what everyone else accepts.
You cannot develop a profound understanding of life by endlessly consuming fragments of it.
And you cannot discover your authentic self while constantly being told who to admire, what to desire, how to look, and what kind of life is worth living.
Perhaps the greatest act of rebellion today is not becoming more popular, more attractive, or more visible.
Perhaps it is reclaiming your attention.
Read a book. Study something deeply. Spend time in nature. Sit in silence. Question what you see. Learn to recognize when your emotions are being manipulated. Build a life that feels meaningful even when nobody is watching.
The world does not need more artificial idols. It needs more conscious human beings.
And perhaps the most important question we can ask ourselves is this:
Are you using social media, or is social media using you?
