| 4 | Tickets Are Now On Sale for the 2026 PG Hospice Dream Home Lottery
PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — The wait is over. Tickets for the 2026 PG Hospice Dream Home officially go on sale Monday October 1st, giving Prince George and area residents the chance to win an extraordinary new home while supporting compassionate care through the Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society.
This year’s Dream Home, located in Prince George’s new Headlands subdivision, is a stunning one-storey contemporary home backing onto a greenbelt. This is a home designed with beauty, style and functionality in mind.
This home is incredible in its own right, and you may not notice its thoughtful Aging in Place features unless we pointed them out. Whether you plan to grow older in the home yourself or envision having aging parents or family members live with you, its design lends itself naturally to aging in place. It’s features support accessibility and the ability to make adaptations if needed in the future.
“both home modification and smart technologies can support older adults’ independent living, especially with fall prevention and indoor accessibility” (Ma, C., et al, 2022).
Aging in place features include: flush entry points to the home, wider doorways, extra room in spaces like bathrooms, light switches at ergonomic heights , and an elevator. This home is not an accessible home, but has possibilities for future adaptations, for example a floating counter top that can be renovated for wheelchair height.
The Dream Home Lottery is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Every ticket sold directly supports the compassionate care, and programs we offer to individuals and families in our community. This lottery is more than just a chance to win a house, it’s a way for our community to come together in support of Hospice care.
The Dream Home is not yet open for public viewing, but the community will have the opportunity to see the home in person once viewing dates are announced. In the meantime, prospective ticket buyers can get their tickets and start dreaming about what it would be like to call 5290 Headlands Heights home.
Tickets are available at both Hospice Thrift Shops, the Hospice office, Canadian Tire, by phone at 1-866-419-7604 and online at www.hospicedreamhome.ca
