The American educational system used to be designed for industrial capitalism with engineering and manufacturing as an organizing principle. Then Globalization exported manufacturing and engineering to Asia and the Global South shifting the US educational system to focus on feelings, marketing, finance and design. Today the US Empire is collapsing and the rise of the BRICS will require a re-industrialization of the US for the country to survive. Unfortunately the US educational system is so degraded it will be difficult to re-skill our decadent population. Immigration won't cut it anymore. This is the folly of American exceptionalism. 😬
