"A single Tasbīh inscribed in a person's record of deeds outweighs this world and all it contains. This is because the world and whatever dwells within it shall perish, while praise and glorification (of Allāh) and righteous deeds shall abide." t.me/mirqat

The Prophet ﷺ heard a man supplicating: اللهم إني أسألك بأنّي أشهدُ أَنَّكَ أَنتَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنتَ الأحد الصمد، الذي لم يلد ولم يولد ولم يكن لَهُ كفوا أحد "O Allāh, I ask You because I bear witness that You are Allāh. There is no deity but You; the One [ahad], the Eternal Refuge [samad]; the One who neither begets nor is begotten, and to whom none is comparable." Upon hearing this, the Prophet ﷺ said: "By Him in Whose Hand is my soul, he has indeed asked Allāh by His immense Name; the Name by which, when He is called upon, He answers, and when He is asked through it, He gives." • صحيح الترمذي (3475)

Happiness is not in what we acquire, but in what we finally learn to see. We chase what is missing while ignoring what is already ours. 👆🏼This narration highlights two of the most significant fasts outside of Ramadān. Allāh has placed immense spiritual cleansing within small, easy and accessible acts of worship tied to sacred time periods. As for the upcoming 'Āshūrā, the Prophet ﷺ encouraged fasting 10th of Muharram, and preferably the 9th (Tāsu'ā) as well in order to differ from the practice of the previous nation.

The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: صِيامُ يومِ عَرَفَةَ، إِنِّي أحْتَسِبُ على اللهِ أنْ يُكَفِّرَ السنَةَ التي قَبلَهُ، والسنَةَ التي بَعدَهُ، وصِيامُ يومِ عاشُوراءَ، إِنِّي أحْتَسِبُ على اللهِ أنْ يُكَفِّرَ السنَةَ التِي قَبْلَهُ "Fasting the Day of 'Arafah, I anticipate from Allāh that it expiate the sins of the year before it and the year after it. And fasting the Day of 'Āshūrā, I anticipate from Allāh that it expiate the sins of the year before it." • Sahīh Muslim (1162)

Tangible wisdom shows up in decision-making and how one handles real-life challenges. Sound minds usually reflect sound outcomes and not eloquent tongues. Sufyān ibn 'Uyaynah (d.198H) said: لا تنظروا إلى عقل الرجل في كلامه؛ ولكن انظروا إلى عقله في مخارج أموره! "Do not assess a man's intellect by his words; rather, assess his intellect by how he resolves matters." • العقل وفضله لابن أبي الدنيا (٣٩) t.me/mirqat

This āyah may seem puzzling at first. We've all asked for things that never came, so how is it said, "He gave you from all that you asked"? Scholars explain that it isn't restricted to verbal requests but encompass one's very condition and innate need. Before you asked for sight, you were gifted eyes. Before you asked for air, you were surrounded by it. Before you asked for a heart, lungs, parents, language, guidance, sustenance, and countless blessings, Allāh had already bestowed them upon you. Some exegetes said the meaning is: "He gave you from everything you asked, and from many things you never even knew to ask for."
