SGDA: Navigating the Risks and Rewards of Vibe Coding #Talks #SGDA #Conferences

Scottish Game Developers Association: Shirzad Bahrami was enthusiastic with his informative and detailed talk on vibe coding and how its application changed his practice as a technical artist, and that of roles that wouldn't often use programming! His talk was focused and technical which broached the idea how AI usage should be taught and guardrails put in place to make it digestible in the workplace. #Talks #SGDA #Speaking #Presentation

I’m excited to share that I’m joining Activision Blizzard as a Senior Technical Animator, working on a new AAA IP. I’m looking forward to collaborating with this talented team and taking on the exciting technical and creative challenges ahead. #Career

After three incredible years, I’ve decided it’s the right time for me to close this chapter at Electronic Arts (EA). I’ve had the privilege of working on the F1 franchise alongside an amazingly talented group of people, and I’m very grateful for everything I’ve learned along the way. This role has been an important step in my career, giving me the opportunity to grow, take on new challenges, and learn from some brilliant people. I’ve grown a lot, both professionally and personally, and I’ll carry those lessons with me into the next chapter. I’m proud of what we achieved together and very grateful to have been part of it. #Career

Some really good improvements to HézFX!

Super excited to share the latest update on my physics-based muscle simulation tool! This test uses a relatively low-res simulation, as the main goal was to go through the full character pipeline and make sure everything works together. #Physics #CreatureFX #Simulation

Take a look at Shirzad Bahrami's physics-based fish animation, created using simple physics and math calculations to simulate natural undulation. A tutorial and 3ds Max script are available: https://80.lv/articles/this-fish-moves-using-simple-physics-math

Technical Artist Shirzad Bahrami has shared a comprehensive tutorial, explaining how to set up a realistic wooden house destruction simulation using 3ds Max and tyFlow. This is the closest I’ve ever been with my muscle simulation tool.

I added the Finite Element Method (FEM) to my solver alongside the XPBD implementation I already had, and the results are stunning! This is why FEM is superior to XPBD for muscle simulation. For a long time, I couldn’t understand why my muscle simulations didn’t look as good as those produced by ZivaVFX, but now I do. FEM is more computationally intensive, but it produces much more accurate results when it comes to simulating muscle and fat tissue.

Lights out and away we go! 🏎 Get an inside look at EA’s character pipeline for the F1 game franchise in our webinar with Shirzad Bahrami, Technical Artist at EA. He'll cover how 3ds Max was used to evolve legacy character rigs, improve animation quality, and deliver a new generation of racers for players. 📅 June 23 at 10AM ET/4PM CEST 👉 REGISTER NOW

I improved the vehicle handling by adding camber to the suspension, and made significant improvements to the force feedback, helping connect the player to the car. The engine sound has also been improved. Although it is not something I have worked on much, it now responds to RPM and engine load. #physics #gamedev #racing #offroad
