‏بحمد الله وصلتني نسخي من كتابي (مقرر التخريج ومنهج الحكم على الحديث) في طبعته الثانية الجديدة ، والتي تضمنت الكثير من الزيادات والتصحيحات . ‏والزيادات لم تقتصر على ذكر المطبوعات المتجددة في السنة ، وإنما في منهج الحكم على الحديث : بزيادة أمثلة عملية مهمة وتقريرات عديدة واستدلالات من كلام النقاد والعلماء

Shared with Public IBN TAYMIYYAH ON THE HADITH OF NAJD These are just a few quotes that I dug up with a quick search, otherwise I know that I've come across more, indicating that according to Ibn Taymiyyah, the hadiths about Najd and the Mashriq applied first and foremost to the well known Najd in Arabia, and the first of those fitnahs that would appear from the East was that of Musaylima. مجموع الفتاوى (4/ 446) وذلك أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان مقيما بالمدينة فما يغرب عنها فهو غربه وما يشرق عنها فهو شرقه وكان يسمي أهل نجد وما يشرق عنها أهل المشرق كما قال ابن عمر: قدم رجلان من أهل المشرق فخطبا فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم " {إن من البيان لسحرا} . وقد استفاضت السنن عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في " الشر " أن أصله من المشرق: كقوله: " {الفتنة من هاهنا الفتنة من هاهنا} ويشير إلى المشرق وقوله صلى الله عليه وسلم " {رأس الكفر نحو المشرق} ونحو ذلك. بيان تلبيس الجهمية في تأسيس بدعهم الكلامية (1/ 17) حيث قد تواتر عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم إخباره بأن الفتنة ورأس الكفر من المشرق، الذي هو مشرق مدينته كنجد وما يشرق عنها، كما في الصحيحين عن الزهري عن سالم عن ابن عمر قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول وهو على المنبر: «ألا إن الفتنة من ههنا -يشير إلى المشرق- من حيث يطلع قرن الشيطان»... ...ولا ريب أنه من هؤلاء ظهرت الردَّة وغيرها من الكفر، من جهة «مسيلمة الكذاب» وأتباعه، و «طليحة الأسدي» وأتباعه، و «سجاح» وأتباعها، حتى قاتلهم «أبو بكر الصديق» ومن معه من المؤمنين، حتى قتل من قتل، وعاد إلى الإسلام من عاد مؤمنًا أو منافقًا. الجواب الصحيح لمن بدل دين المسيح لابن تيمية (6/ 127) وفي الصحيحين من حديث ابن عمر قال: «سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال وهو مستقبل المشرق: ها، إن الفتنة ها هنا، إن الفتنة ها هنا من حيث يطلع قرن الشيطان» . وفي بعض طرق البخاري: قام خطيبا فأشار بيده نحو مسكن عائشة فقال: وذكر الحديث. فالمشرق عن مدينته فيه البحرين، ومنها خرج مسيلمة الكذاب الذي ادعى النبوة، وهو أول حادث حدث بعده، واتبعه خلائق، وقاتله خليفته الصديق

Sh. Bin Baz in his book on geocentrism puts forward the following argument for the earth being stationary (i.e. in refutation of those who say the Earth revolves around its axis): "Not only is this false view in contradiction with the texts, it is also in contradiction with empirical observation, and it is an obstinate denial of both reason and reality. All people - Muslim and non-Muslim alike - have continuously observed that the sun's motion as it rises and sets. They have observed that the earth is motionless and stable. They have observed that every country and every mountain remains still in its place without changing. If the earth were really rotating as they claim, the countries, mountains, trees, rivers, and oceans would not be stationary (in their locations), and people would have seen Western lands in the East and Eastern lands in the West. People would struggle to find the Qiblah as it would be continuously shifting location without end. In summary, there are numerous reasons why this perspective is invalid, which are too numerous to list."

Nowadays, it seems you can't be considered a graduate of iu.edu.sa unless you make a YouTube video on your life and times at the place. Every recent graduate (and his grandad) seems to have uploaded a video on the place of some sort. Good for them. I myself have been contemplating for over a decade to make a piece of my own. Now I'm thinking of bucking the trend. But I will share this on Saudi universities in general and Islamic studies at Madinah in particular. Somebody once said: One of the things you need to understand: Unlike a Western educational institution which will actually give you the tools you need to achieve your goals, you will feel like you're in a zoo with monkeys throwing rotten tomatoes at you.
